Zealand, do hereby declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Wednesday, the eighth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and nine, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to section one hundred and thirty-five of the said Act, as it contains, or is supposed to contain, metal, mineral, or valuable stone.

First-class Land.

Flat agricultural and pastoral land. Altitude, 550 ft. above sea-level. About 2 acres along road frontage is open land covered with fern; the balance is covered with green bush, consisting of brown and silver birch. Situated one mile and a half from railway-station and two miles and a quarter from Reefton Post-office, on Reefton-Westport coach-road.

Opening Settlement Lands in Auckland Land District for Selection.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The Land Act, 1908,” and “The Land for Settlements Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Wednesday, the twenty-fourth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and nine, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.

Altitude, from about 80 ft. to 100 ft. above sea-level. Undulating land; 1 acre pine and gum trees, balance furze. Soil a stiff loam, resting on clay subsoil; no surface water. Access from Avondale Railway-station, distant about 50 chains; metalled road to within 5 chains of section.

FIRST-CLASS LAND.

Matamata County. — Patetere North Survey District. — Mangapouri Settlement.

Altitude, from about 360 ft. to 500 ft. above sea-level. Undulating land; about 333 acres in grass; balance fern and manuka. Good soil of a light loamy nature; fairly well watered. Situated three miles from Tirau Railway-station, three miles from Putaruru, and one mile from Taumangi Railway-station, by good cart-road. The section contains about 127 chains of fencing, included in price of land.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT.—MURCHISON COUNTY.—MATIRI SURVEY DISTRICT.—BRAEBURN SETTLEMENT.
Second-class Unsurveyed Land.

About 25 acres of good flat agricultural land; open and scrub country, the open portion being well grassed with English grasses. One hundred and fifty acres of undulating ploughable land, the balance being easy slopes and steep hills; suitable for pastoral purposes; covered with bush, consisting principally of birch. Altitude, 1,135 ft. to 2,500 ft. above sea-level. Situated about fourteen miles and a half from Murchison by a formed dray-road. Improvements have been effected on this section to the value of £38 5s., and are included in the capital value.

Notifying Lands in Auckland Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-twenty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Tuesday, the twenty-third day of November, one thousand nine hundred and nine, as the time at which the lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.
