Land set apart for State Forest Purposes in the Marlborough Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The State Forests Act, 1908,” and of every other power and authority enabling me in that behalf, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby set apart the forest land described in the Schedule hereto, forming part of the Crown lands in New Zealand, as and for a State forest within the provisions of the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Marlborough Land District, containing by admeasurement 7,800 acres, more or less, situated in Block III, Tennyson Survey District, and Blocks I, II, and III, Wakamarina Survey District. Bounded towards the north by the abutment of a road and the northern boundary of Section No. 33, Block III, Tennyson Survey District, from the north-eastern corner of Section No. 34, said Block III, to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 33 aforesaid, 7846·5 links; thence towards the east by the eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section, the abutment of a road, and the eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 31, 29, 27, 25, and 22, Block III aforesaid, 15836 links; thence towards the south-east by the south-eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 22 and 21, Block III aforesaid, to the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned section, 7964 links; thence towards the south-west by part of the south-western boundary of that section, 500 links; thence again towards the south-east by the south-eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 16, 15, and 14, Block II, Wakamarina Survey District, to a public road, 7165 links; thence by the said road, forming parts of the south-eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 14 and 35, Block II aforesaid, to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section No. 10, 3497·4 links; thence again towards the north by a right line across the said road, by the northern boundaries of Sections Nos. 10, 9, 8, and 7, Block II aforesaid, and the northern boundary of the last-mentioned section produced to the Opouri River, 22200 links: thence again towards the east by the Opouri River to its junction with the Tunapai Stream, 2400 links; thence by a line running due south, 10900 links; thence by a line running due west, 24500 links, to the eastern boundary of Section No. 2, Block II, Wakamarina Survey District: thence towards the west by that section, 3088·5 links; thence again towards the south by the said Section No. 2 and Sections Nos. 9 and 8, Block I, Wakamarina Survey District, 10999·6 links: thence again towards the west generally by Section No. 38 and its eastern boundary produced to the Opouri River, 1650 links; thence across and by that river to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Section No. 39, Block I aforesaid; thence by a right line to the southernmost corner of that section, by its south-eastern boundary, and across a public road, 3450 links; thence by the said public road bounding the last-mentioned section, 1709·1 links; thence by Section No. 40, Block I, Wakamarina Survey District, 1250 links; and thence by a right line bearing north 23° east, 32250 links, to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 34, Block III, Tennyson Survey District, the place of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 57257/55, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this fifth day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and nine.

Closing Government Road in Block XI, Maraekakaho Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and thirty-three (c) of “The Public Works Act, 1908,” it is enacted that the Governor may, by Proclamation publicly notified, stop or alter the course of any Government road or any part thereof:

And whereas the Government road described in the Schedule hereto is no longer required for the purpose of a road:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the above-in-part-recited Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim as stopped the road in Maraekakaho Survey District described in the Schedule hereto.

In the Hawke’s Bay Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked and coloured as above mentioned, and deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this first day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and nine.

Cancelling a Kauri-gum Reserve and setting apart other Land in lieu thereof.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this fifth day of October, 1909.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS the land described in the first column of the Schedule hereto is land upon which is growing kauri (Agathis australis): And whereas it was proclaimed in error a kauri-gum reserve under the provisions of “The Kauri-gum Industry Act, 1898,” instead of the area of land described in the second column of the Schedule hereto:

And whereas it is expedient that the reservation over the said land should be cancelled, and the area mentioned in the second column of the said Schedule be set apart in lieu thereof:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by “The Kauri-gum Industry Act, 1908,” and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby cancel the reservation over the land described in the first column of the Schedule hereto, and doth hereby set apart the area mentioned in the second column of the said Schedule as a kauri-gum reserve under the provisions of “The Kauri-gum Industry Act, 1908,” in lieu of the first-mentioned area.
