Pastoral Runs in Westland Land District for License by Public Auction.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned pastoral runs will be offered for license by public auction, for a term of ten years, at this office, at 11 o’clock a.m., on Saturday, the 27th day of February, 1909, under the provisions of “The Land Act, 1908.”

LOCALITY AND DESCRIPTION.
Run 9 occupies the upper valleys of the Browning, Kokatahi, and Toaroha Rivers. Wholly covered with bush; suitable only for cattle. Access from Upper Kokatahi by Wilberforce Road, which passes through the run.
Run 13 occupies the watershed of McCullough’s Creek, also the upper valley of the Poerua River and part of the western slope of the Wilberg Range. All bush land; cattle-feed only. Access by Main South Road, about one mile from Mount Hercules Post and Telephone Office.
Run 15 occupies the upper valley of Company’s Creek, also the land between Company’s Creek and the Waiho River, together with two areas between the Atupau and Waiho Rivers, one of which is a homestead site. Bush land; suitable for cattle only. Access either by Main South Road and river-bed, about two miles from Waiho Post and Telephone Office, or by sea-beach from Okarito, about six miles
Run 61 occupies the watershed of Docherty’s Creek. All bush land; cattle-feed only. Access by Main South Road, about three miles from Waiho Post and Telephone Office.
Run 17 occupies the watershed of the Waikukupa River. All bush land; cattle-feed only. Access to Upper Valley is by Main South Road, about eleven miles from Waiho Post and Telephone Office, and access to Lower Valley by sea-beach, about ten miles from Okarito.
Run 65 occupies the watershed of Windbag Creek and the northern portion of the valley of the Blue River. All bush country; cattle-feed only. The Main South Road passes through the run.
Run 69: All bush country; suitable for cattle only. Occupies the north-western slope of Mount Delta and the flat land intervening between that range and a line a quarter of a mile south of Cascade and Barn Rivers. Wholly traversed by the Barn Bay Road, which is a metalled horse-track. Distant twenty-four miles from Port of Jackson’s Bay by metalled stock-road.
Run 80 occupies the whole of the grass land on the summit of the Argentine Range. Summer sheep country. Access by Main South Road and Paringa Valley, about five miles from Paringa Post and Telephone Office.
Run 34 occupies the upper watershed of the Kawhaka River. Wholly covered with bush; cattle-feed only. Access by bridle-road up Kawhaka River. Five miles from main road at Kawhaka.
The runs are offered subject to the rights of the present licensees to valuation for improvements in terms of section 244 of “The Land Act, 1908.”
The improvements at present existing on the runs are as follows: Run 9, clearing and grassing, £20; Run 13, no improvements; Run 15, clearing and grassing, fencing, hut, yards, &c., £160; Run 17, fencing, clearing, and grassing, £120; Run 34, no improvements; Run 61, no improvements; Run 65, clearing and grassing, £10; Run 69, no improvements; Run 80, no improvements.
Possession of Runs 69 and 80 will be given on the day of sale; the remainder on the 1st day of March, 1910.
Purchasers will be required to pay the amount of valuation for improvements existing on the runs at the expiry of the present licenses before being admitted into possession.
