the requirements of the said borough, the said Miramar Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of $\frac{1}{14}$d. in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Miramar, comprising the whole of the said Borough of Miramar; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of June and the 1st day of December in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years from the 1st day of June, 1909, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above special order was duly made and passed at a special meeting of the Miramar Borough Council held on the 5th day of August, 1909, and duly confirmed at a meeting of the said Council held on the 2nd day of September, 1909.

WHANGAREI BOROUGH COUNCIL. Special Order making Special Rate. In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” the Whangarei Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £17,000 (of which it is proposed to raise £10,000 the first year and £7,000 in the following year), authorised to be raised by the Whangarei Borough Council, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” for the construction and establishing of drainage-works for the Borough of Whangarei according to the scheme submitted by Mr. Metcalfe to the Council on the 26th February, 1909, the said Whangarei Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of $\frac{9}{16}$d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Whangarei; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable in one sum yearly on the 31st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off, the rate of interest of such loan being at the rate of 3$\frac{1}{2}$ per cent. per annum.

OHAKUNE TOWN BOARD. Special Order making Special Rate.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” the Ohakune Town Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £300, authorised to be raised by the Ohakune Town Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for forming and kerbing footpaths, the said Ohakune Town Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1d. in the pound upon the rateable property of the special-rating area, comprising Sections 1 to 8 (inclusive), Block V; Sections 6 to 10 (inclusive), Block IX; Sections 5 to 9 (inclusive), Block XII, and all in the Township of Ohakune; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of October and on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

The above resolution was duly passed as a special order at a special meeting of the Ohakune Town Board held on the 24th day of July, 1909, and confirmed at a special meeting of the said Town Board held on the 31st day of August, 1909.

BULL'S TOWN BOARD. Proposal for Loan of £600 under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.”

It is hereby notified that a poll for the above proposal was taken on the 9th day of September, 1909, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., with the following result: Total number of valid votes recorded, 44; for the proposal, 44; against the proposal, none; informal, none.

I therefore declare the proposal carried.

Notice of the Taking and Laying-off of a Road through Waimamaku B2h, Wairau North No. 2, and Wairau North No. 3a, Auckland Land District.

NOTICE is hereby given, by direction of His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, under the authority of section 93 of “The Public Works Act, 1908,” that the road described in the Schedule hereto was duly taken and laid off through the lands specified in the said Schedule, under the authority of the Governor of the said Dominion, by Warrants dated the 26th day of December, 1907, and 10th day of October, 1908.
