to any other purpose, or if it shall, in the opinion of the
Governor, be expedient to exchange any of the land comprised in such reserve for other land of equal value, to be
dedicated to one or more purposes named in the said
Class II, the Governor may, by notice gazetted, make such
change, exchange, or dedication, as the case may be, and in
such notice declare the manner and terms in which the
same is intended to be so made:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the
Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, in
exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested
in me by “The Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908,”
aforesaid, declare my intention to exchange the reserve
described in the first column of the Schedule hereto for the
lands described in the second column of the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

Description and Purpose of Reserve intended to be exchanged. Description of Lands to be obtained in Exchange therefor.
All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by ad-measurement 2 roods, more or less, being Sections Nos. 12 and 13, Block III, Town of Rangataua. Bounded towards the north-west by Sections Nos. 14 and 15, Block III, Town of Rangataua; towards the north-east by Nei Street; towards the south-east by Sections Nos. 10 and 11, Block III aforesaid; and towards the south-west by Miharo Street: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 5909/1, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered blue. Reserved for a site for a post-office in New Zealand Gazette No. 93, of the 26th November, 1908, page 3002. All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by ad-measurement 1 rood, more or less, being Section No. 23, Block III, Town of Rangataua. Bounded towards the north-west by Sections Nos. 26, 25, and 24, Block III, Town of Rangataua; towards the north-east by Nei Street; towards the south-east by Section No. 21 of said Block III; and towards the south-west by Section No. 22: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 5909/1, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by ad-measurement 1 rood, more or less, being Section No. 6, Block IV, Town of Rangataua. Bounded towards the north-west by a tram-way reserve, 50 links wide, along the north-western boundary of Block IV, Town of Rangataua; towards the north-east by Nei Street; towards the south-east by Section No. 7 of said Block IV; and towards the south-west by Sections Nos. 20 and 21: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 5909/10, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

this thirty-first day of August, one thousand nine
hundred and nine.

Opening Land in Nelson Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The Land Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Wednesday, the tenth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and nine, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of section one hundred and thirty-five of the said Act, as it contains, or is supposed to contain, metal, mineral, or valuable stone.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT—TAKAKA COUNTY—WAITAPU SURVEY DISTRICT.

About 6 acres of flat land of good quality has been stumped and cleared, but is now covered with blackberries; the balance consists of hilly land suitable for sheep-grazing, 50 acres of which is covered with green forest, consisting chiefly of brown, red, and silver birch, with a small quantity of red-pine; the rest of the section, originally forest, has been burnt, and is now grown up with fern, scrub, &c. The land is well watered. Situated about four miles from Takaka and about six miles and a quarter from the Port of Waitapu. Access by a good metalled dray-road.

this twenty-fifth day of August, one thousand nine
hundred and nine.

This section consists of river-flat, most of it being good sandy soil. The whole of section has been cleared of heavy bush, and the greater portion laid down in good grass, the balance being covered with a mixture of grass, rushes, and scrub. Access by a metalled road leading from the Mokihinui Railway-station, about 70 chains distant.
