Resuming Land for the Purposes of a School-site in the Marlborough Land District.

PLUNKET, Governor.
A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section one hundred and forty-four of “The Land Act, 1908” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor in Council may, by Proclamation, resume possession of any land leased under Part III of the said Act, or under any corresponding Part of “The Land Act, 1892,” which in his opinion is required for any public purpose:
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto forms part of land which is held under lease in perpetuity from His Majesty the King under Part III of “The Land Act, 1892,” dated the tenth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine:
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required for a public purpose—that is to say, for a site for a public school:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The Land Act, 1908,” and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby proclaim and declare that I hereby resume possession of the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto for the public purpose hereinbefore mentioned, the same being part of the land held under lease in perpetuity as aforesaid.
SCHEDULE.
All that area in the Marlborough Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 roods, more or less, being Section No. 13 (formerly portion of Section No. 9), Block I, Arapawa Survey District; as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 5258/3, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-third day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and nine.

Districts constituted under “The Marriage Act, 1908.”

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in the Governor by “The Marriage Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing marriage districts known as the Nelson and Waimea South Districts, and do proclaim and declare that the territory heretofore comprised within the said districts is hereby divided anew into two marriage districts, the names and boundaries whereof shall be as follows:—
NELSON DISTRICT.
All that area in the Nelson Land District bounded towards the north, north-west, and south-east generally by the sea from the mouth of the Waimea River to Elaine Bay, in Pelorus Sound; thence again towards the south-east generally by the Marlborough Land District to a point due east of the southernmost corner of Section No. 3, Block V, Rintoul Survey District; thence towards the south by a right line to that corner, and thence by a right line running in the direction of the southernmost corner of Section No. 9, Block IV, Gordon Survey District, to the Wairoa River; thence towards the west by the Wairoa River to its confluence with the Waimea River, and thence by the Waimea River to the sea: including D’Urville Island, Rabbit Island, and adjacent islands.
WAIMEA SOUTH DISTRICT.
All that area in the Nelson Land District bounded towards the north generally by part of a right line running from the north-eastern corner of Section No. 104, Block I, Wai-iti Survey District, to the south-western corner of Section No. 88, Block I aforesaid, from the watershed between Stanley Brook and the River Dove to the said south-western corner of Section No. 88; thence by Section No. 89, Block I aforesaid, to the River Dove; thence by the right bank of that river to the road leading from the Village of Thorpe to the Moutere; thence by the north side of that road to Section No. 111, Block II, Wai-iti Survey District; thence by that section and Sections Nos. 112 and 113, Block II aforesaid, to the easternmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence by a right line to the southernmost corner of Section No. 157, Block III; thence by a right line to the westernmost corner of Section No. 20, Block III aforesaid; thence by that section and Sections Nos. 127 and 126, Block VII, Section No. 8, Block VIII, and the northern boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 7 and 188, Block VIII aforesaid, to the north-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; thence by a right line to the south-western corner of Section No. 37, Block VIII aforesaid; thence by the western boundary of the last-mentioned section, and by the western boundaries of Sections Nos. 38, 39, and 36, Block IV, Wai-iti Survey District, to Cut Hill; thence by a right line to the southernmost corner of Section No. 192, Block I, Waimea Survey District; thence by that section and Section No. 194, Block I aforesaid, to the sea; and thence by the sea to the mouth of the Waimea River; thence towards the east by the right bank of the Waimea River to its confluence with the Wairoa River; thence by the right bank of the Wairoa River to its intersection by a right line running from the southernmost corner of Section No. 9, Block IV, Gordon Survey District, to the southernmost corner of Section No. 3, Block V, Rintoul Survey District; thence by that right line to the said southernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence by a right line running due east to the western boundary of the Marlborough Land District; thence by the Marlborough Land District to Tophcuse; thence towards the south by the road running generally westward to the Motupiko Valley Road; thence towards the west generally by the road along the right bank of the Motupiko River northwards across the watershed near Kerr’s Hill, through Long Gully, and along the right bank of the Motueka River to the southern boundary of Section No. 1, Block V, Gordon Survey District; thence by that section and Run No. 22 to the northernmost corner of Section No. 35, Block VI; thence by the watershed between the Motueka and Wai-iti Rivers, and the watershed between Stanley Brook and the River Dove, to the place of commencement.
And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall come into operation on the thirteenth day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and nine.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in the Governor by “The Births and Deaths Registration Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the existing registration districts known as the Nelson and Waimea South Districts, and do proclaim and declare that the territory heretofore comprised within the said districts is hereby divided anew into two registration districts, the names whereof shall be the Nelson and Waimea South Districts, and the boundaries whereof shall be coterminous with the boundaries of the marriage districts bearing the same names, as are set forth in a Proclamation of even date herewith, made under the provisions of “The Marriage Act, 1908,”
