Situated on the Ball Road, between the Tarere and Kawaiti Roads. Access from Ball Road Railway-station, about nine miles distant by the Ball Road, which is formed for dray traffic right past section. Contains 896 acres felling and grassing, 10 acres stumping, ploughing, and logging up, tracks, two dams, and orchard. The land comprises small portion of flat-topped spurs along Tarere Road and about 8 acres to 10 acres of flat on the Kawaiti Road frontage. Balance is medium to steep sidelings, with gorgy creeks. The soil is of clayey loam, on a papa formation. The forest, about 50 acres, comprises rimu, rata, tawa, &c., with a medium undergrowth. Well watered. Altitude, about 1,150 ft. above sea-level.

Weighted with £1,172, valuation for improvements, comprising 294 acres felling and grassing, £742; 132½ chains fencing, £130; sheep-yards, £5; tracks, £50; garden, £5; small shed, £5; old whare, £10; house, £225.

The Crown reserves the right to deviate the Ball Road in this section, and the area of the old road about to be closed, as indicated in dotted lines on plan, is included in the section.

Situate on the Ball Road, fronting the Patea River. Distant from Patea eighteen miles and a half, and from Hawera twenty-one miles. Access from Ball Road Railway-station, nine miles distant (one mile metalled and the remainder formed dray-road), also from Patea, five miles metalled, via Kaharoa and Maben Roads, the remainder formed dray-road. Comprises hilly and easy-sloping country, with river-flats. Altogether, 408 acres has been felled and grassed. The forest now remaining is heavy, consisting of rata, rimu, &c., with the usual undergrowth. Soil of good quality, on a papa formation. The section is well watered. Elevation varies from 700 ft. to 1,000 ft. above sea-level.

Weighted with £3 5s., valuation for improvements, comprising 5 chains fencing.

To insure better fencing-lines than formerly existing it is the present intention that when feasible the boundaries be amended to accord with the dotted lines on plan, and this must be taken into consideration when the land is selected. The Crown reserves the right to deviate the Ball Road in this section, and the area of the old road about to be closed, as indicated in dotted lines on plan, is included in the section.

Situate on the Ball Road. Access is from Ball Road Railway-station, about nine miles distant, by Ball Road, which is formed for dray traffic right up to the section. Contains 353 acres felling and grassing, and 62 acres in grass overgrown with fern, &c. Comprises some good river-flats, about 20 acres of which would be ploughable when stumped; the rest is steep ridges. The soil is of clayey loam, on a papa formation. The forest, about 200 acres, comprises rata, tawa, rimu, kahikatea, with birch on ridges and top of spurs; medium undergrowth. Well watered.

Weighted with £287 15s., valuation for improvements, comprising fencing, £107 15s.; sheep-yards, £5; and house and shed, £175.

Situate on the Ball Road. Access is from Ball Road Railway-station, about eight miles distant, via the Ball Road, which is formed as a dray-road up to and past the section. Contains 224 acres grassing, 106 acres grassing covered with second growth, and 9 acres stumping and ploughing. Comprises flat-topped ridges and deep gullies, with steep spurs. There are from 15 acres to 20 acres of flat land on the Patea River frontage. The soil is of clayey loam, on a papa formation. The forest, about 190 acres, comprises birch, tawa, rimu, rata, &c., with a heavy undergrowth. Well watered.
