NOTICE OF SPECIAL RESOLUTION TO WIND UP.

In the matter of “The Companies Act, 1903”; and in the matter of the Ellis Motor Company (Limited).

At an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company, duly convened, and held at the registered office on Wednesday, the 7th day of July, 1909, the following special resolution was duly passed; and at a subsequent extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company, duly convened, and held at the registered office on the 22nd day of July, 1909, the following resolution was duly confirmed, viz.: “That, in accordance with the recommendations made by the directors, the company go into voluntary liquidation, and that Messrs. Sutton and Bendall be appointed Liquidators for the purpose of winding up.”

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of “The Counties Act, 1908,” and “The Public Works Act, 1908.”

Notice is hereby given that the Southland County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work, to wit, the construction of a road through Sections 7, 9A, 9B, 18, 21, and 30, Block 12, Invercargill Hundred, Southland County, and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken. And notice is further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the offices of the Southland County Council, in Clyde Street, Invercargill, and is there open for inspection. And notice is also given that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land shall, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Southland County Council, Clyde Street, Invercargill, aforesaid.

PRIVATE BILL.

In the matter of a proposed Bill or Act intituled “An Act to enable the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Wellington to erect a Boarding-school on certain Land situate in the City of Wellington, and to borrow and raise Money on the same and on certain other Lands, and to devote the Net Proceeds in or towards the Erection and Upkeep of certain School Buildings thereon.”

Pursuant to the Standing Orders of the General Assembly of New Zealand relating to private Bills, the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Wellington gives notice that, within 14 days of the session to be held next after the date of this notice, a Petition will be presented to Parliament praying leave to bring in a private Bill to be called “The Roman Catholic Archbishop of Wellington Empowering Bill, 1909.” The objects of the said Bill are—

To authorise the erection of a Boarding-school for Girls on the land described in the First Schedule to the said Bill; to authorise the erection of an Orphanage for Girls on the land described in the Third Schedule thereto; and to authorise the raising of money on the security of the lands described in the three Schedules thereto, or any of them.

A copy of the said Petition will be deposited in the office of the Examiner of Standing Orders either before or within 14 days after the commencement of the said session.
