SCHEDULE.

Description and Purpose of Reserve. Intended Purpose.
All that area in the Nelson Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 roods, more or less, and being part of Section No. 9, Block II, Village of Torea. Bounded towards the south-west by Section No. 10, Block II, Village of Torea, 500 links; towards the north-west by a continuation of the road forming the north-west boundary of the last-mentioned section, 100 links; towards the north-east by a line parallel to the south-west boundary, 250 links; again towards the north-west by a line at right angles to the last-mentioned boundary, 100 links; again towards the north-east by a road parallel to the south-west boundary, 250 links; and towards the south-east by a line at right angles to the last-mentioned boundary, 200 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 5314/4, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. Reserved for purposes of public utility in New Zealand Gazette No. 19, of the 8th March, 1894, page 374. Police.

Notifying Lands in Auckland Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-twenty-sixth section of "The Land Act, 1908," I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Friday, the seventeenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and nine, as the time at which the lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

Opening Lands in Auckland Land District for Sale or Selection.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by "The Land Act, 1908," I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided in section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Wednesday, the twenty-ninth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and nine; and also that the iands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of "The Land Act, 1908."

Altitude, 400ft. to 600ft. above sea-level. Undulating to broken land; greater part is old kauri workings, and area overrun by bush fires; about 20 acres in grass; remainder of section mixed forest, comprising kahikatea, taraire, birch, tawa, kauri rickers, and a few rimu-trees; light undergrowth of kiekie and ferns. Soil loam and clay from fair to inferior in quality, on sandstone formation; well watered. Situated eight miles from Waipu by formed road.

HOBSON COUNTY.-KAIHU SURVEY DISTRICT.

Altitude, 600ft. to 800ft. above sea-level. Scrub and fern land, undulating to level; soil loam and clay, fair to inferior in quality, on sandstone formation; watered by small watercourses. Situated about two miles from Kaihu Railway-station by dray-road.

Weighted with £50, valuation for improvements, consisting of four-roomed house (out of repair in parts), 3 acres bush felled and grassed, and 60 chains fencing.

Altitude, 600ft. to 850ft. above sea-level. Mostly undulating to level land, part steep; 25 acres mixed forest, comprising taraire, rata, miro, tawa, and small kauri-trees, with undergrowth of kiekie and ferns; balance of section scrub and fern land. Soil loam and clay, fair to inferior in quality, on sandstone formation; watered by small watercourses. Situated about three miles from Kaihu Railway-station by dray-road. A tram-line for hauling timber runs through the section.

OPOTIKI COUNTY.-WAIOTAHI PARISH.

Altitude, from 5ft. to 200ft. above sea-level. Steep and broken country, covered with light mixed forest, comprising manuka, makomako, wharangi, mahoe, and tutu, with thick undergrowth of scrub and punga; soil of fair quality, on sandstone formation; well watered by spring. Fronts Ohiwa Harbour. Three miles from Ohiwa Wharf by water, and about five miles by rough horse-track.

Altitude, 20ft. to 30ft. above sea-level. Undulating land, covered with fern and scrub; soil of good quality, on sandstone formation; well watered by small stream. Situated about five miles from Waimana Post-office—four miles and a half by Waimana-Nukuhou dray-road, and half a mile unformed.

WAITEMATA COUNTY.—WAIPAREIRA PARISH.

Altitude, 50ft. to 100ft. above sea-level. Practically level land, covered with fern and manuka scrub; a few swampy rush gullies; clay soil of medium quality, on sandstone formation; fairly well watered by springs and swampy gullies. Situated about three miles from Hobsonville by good road, metalled for over two miles. Access also from Henderson Railway-station by good road, about seven miles distant. There is a considerable amount of kauri timber submerged in swampy portion, which would be suitable for fencing.
