Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty's Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-third day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and nine.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section eleven of "The Land Act, 1908," I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, with the consent of the licensee of the Crown land mentioned in the Schedule hereto, and of the Inangahua County Council, being the local authority in whose district the said land is situated, proclaim as a road the land in Maimai Survey District described in the Schedule hereto.

Ashburton County Council declared a Leasing Authority under “The Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-second day of July, 1909.
Present:
His Excellency The Governor in Council.
WHEREAS by an Order in Council dated the sixteenth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the same date, the Ashburton County Council was declared to be subject to the provisions of “The Public Bodies’ Powers Act, 1887”:
And whereas the said Council has, in terms of subsection three of section fourteen of “The Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), requested that the said Order in Council may be revoked:
And whereas the Ashburton County Council is a body of persons having power to lease land held in trust, reserved, or set apart for public purposes, and has requested the Governor in Council to declare it to be a leasing authority within the meaning of the said Act:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the aforesaid Order in Council of the sixteenth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight, but without prejudice to anything heretofore done thereunder; and, further, in compliance with the aforesaid request of the said Ashburton County Council, and in pursuance and exercise of the above-recited powers, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council as aforesaid, doth hereby order and declare that the said Ashburton County Council is a leasing authority within the meaning of “The Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908.”

Declaring Bartlett's Creek Road, in the Wairau Road District, to be a District Road.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-second day of July, 1909.
Present:
His Excellency The Governor in Council.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1908,” and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, be a district road.

SCHEDULE.

BARTLETT'S CREEK ROAD.

ALL that portion of Bartlett's Creek Road, in the Marlborough Land District, commencing at the south-eastern boundary of Section 41, Block XIII, Onamalutu Survey District, and extending in a northerly direction for about 81 chains in length; and from the southern boundary of Small Grazing-run 129, extending in a northerly and easterly direction, following the course of Bartlett's Creek, for a distance of 2 miles 20 chains, terminating near Criterion Creek: as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 24878, coloured red, and deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District.
