BOROUGH OF THAMES.

Special Order authorising the Borrowing of £3,000 for establishing Public Abattoir.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” “The Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1908,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” the Thames Borough Council resolves as follows, viz.: That the Council by special resolution, intended to operate as a special order, do borrow from the Hon. Minister of Finance of New Zealand the sum of £3,000 for the purpose of establishing a public abattoir under “The Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1908,” the term of the said loan to be a period of twenty-six years.

Passed at a special meeting of the said Council held on the 17th day of December, 1908, and confirmed at a special meeting held on the 14th day of January, 1909.

The common seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Thames was affixed hereto in the presence of—

BOROUGH OF THAMES.

Special Order making Special Rate.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” the Thames Borough Council resolves as follows, viz.: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £3,000, authorised to be raised by the Thames Borough Council, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” and “The Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1908,” for the purpose of establishing a public abattoir, the said Thames Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1½d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation (on the basis of the annual rent value) of all rateable property within the Borough of Thames; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable annually on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the loan is paid off.

Passed at a special meeting of the said Council held on the 17th day of December, 1908, and confirmed at a special meeting held on the 14th day of January, 1909.

THE following special order, made by the Te Rapa Drainage Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.”

TE RAPA DRAINAGE BOARD.

Special Order making Special Rate.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” the Te Rapa Drainage Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £150, authorised to be raised by the Te Rapa Drainage Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for cutting drains, the said Te Rapa Drainage Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 3d. in the pound on the rateable value of lands classed as receiving or supposed to receive immediate or direct benefit, and of 2d. in the pound on the rateable value of lands classed as receiving less direct benefit from the construction of drainage-works; such rate to be made and levied on all rateable property of the Te Rapa Drainage Board Special-rating Area No. 2, and immediately on lands classed as per Schedule hereto; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 17th day of March and the 17th day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years or until the loan is fully paid off.

SCHEDULE OF SECTIONS.

Class I: Sections 108, 109, 110, 111, 25 acres; 106A, 106, parts 107, 107A, 50 acres; parts 107A, 112, 107, 50 acres; 105, 20 acres; 115, 5 acres; 152, 153, 65 acres.

Class II: Section Part 107, 3 acres; 150, 30 acres, Pukete Parish.

I hereby certify that the above special order was adopted at a special meeting held on the 24th day of December, 1908, and confirmed at a subsequent special meeting held on the 21st day of January, 1909.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Martinborough Town Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.”

MARTINBOROUGH TOWN BOARD.

Proposal to raise a Special Loan of £2,500 for the Purpose of Extra Reticulation and Alteration to the Water-supply.

I hereby give notice that on the 14th day of January, 1909, a proposal was submitted by the Martinborough Town Board to the ratepayers of the Town District of Martinborough to borrow £2,500, having a currency of nineteen years from the issue of the debentures of the said loan, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” and under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1908,” in pursuance of the powers vested in it by the said Act, and all other powers in that behalf it enabling, for the purposes as follows: To carry out a scheme for the purpose of extra reticulation and alteration to the present water-supply to the township for the use of the inhabitants; and the proposed security for which loan will be an annually recurring rate of 3d. in the pound sterling on the rateable value of all rateable properties in the said town district, to be levied for the said period of nineteen years, including interest on the said loan at the rate of £5 per centum per annum, and provisions for repayment of the said loan by a sinking fund of 10s. per centum per annum on the amount of the said loan; and that the costs of raising the loan and the first year’s interest thereon shall be paid thereout.

And the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows: For the proposal, 72 votes; against the proposal, 31 votes; informal, 2 votes. And I therefore declare the said proposal to be carried.

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 15 of “The Land Act, 1908,” I, Joseph George Ward, Minister of Lands, do hereby authorise the laying-off of Airlie, Cluny, and Moana Roads, in the Township of Plimmerton Extension No. 3, Wellington Land District, of a width of not less than 66 ft. each, instead of 99 ft.
