to be the Culverden Domain Board, having control of the land described in the said Schedule hereto for the purposes of and subject to the provisions of the said Act; and doth hereby appoint Saturday, the sixth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and nine, at half past two o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Drill Hall, Culverden, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.
SCHEDULE.
CULVERDEN DOMAIN.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 18 acres 2 roods 31 perches, more or less, being Reserve No. 3758, situated in Block VI, Culverden Survey District (Culverden Settlement), Amuri County. Bounded towards the north-west generally by the Christchurch–Culverden Railway line and Culverden Railway-station yards; towards the south-east by the North Road; and towards the south-west by Section No. 13, Block VI, Culverden Survey District (Culverden Settlement): as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 1116/2, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twentieth day of January, 1909.

PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section forty of “The Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, with respect to any public domain, appoint such persons (not exceeding nine) as he thinks fit to be a Domain Board having, subject to the said Act, control of such domain:
And whereas by an Order in Council made on the twenty-fifth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and eight, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-seventh day of August, one thousand nine hundred and eight, the land described in the Schedule hereto was brought under the operation and declared to be subject to the provisions of Part II of the said Act:
And whereas it appears expedient to appoint a Domain Board to control the said domain:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

JAMES WILLIAM THOMSON
to be the Okarito Domain Board, having the control of the land described in the said Schedule hereto for the purposes of and subject to the provisions of the said Act; and doth hereby appoint Friday, the fifth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and nine, at eight o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Schoolhouse, Okarito, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

OKARITO DOMAIN.
ALL that area in the Westland Land District, containing 140 acres, more or less, being Reserve No. 201, Block II, Okarito Survey District, Westland County. Bounded towards the north and east by Okarito Lagoon; towards the south by Reserve No. 204, 4650 links; and towards the west by road reserve on bank of Okarito Lagoon: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 1106, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured pink.

Appointing Returning Officer and Polling-place for First Election of a Member of the Foxton Harbour Board to be elected by the Electors of the Borough of Foxton, and Day for such Election.

WHEREAS it is enacted by the sixth section of “The Foxton Harbour Board Act, 1908,” that the Governor may, by Order in Council gazetted, appoint a Returning Officer and polling-places for the purpose of the first election of a member to be elected by the electors of the Borough of Foxton under the said Act, and a day for such election:
And whereas it is desirable to do so:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the hereinbefore-recited power and authority, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint
ALFRED FRASER
to be the Returning Officer; the Foxton Borough Council Office, at Foxton, to be the polling-place; and Monday, the eighth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and nine, to be the day, for the first election of the member of the Foxton Harbour Board who is to be elected under the said Act by the electors of the Borough of Foxton.

Maximum and Minimum Age for Admission of Counter-women and Assistants to Post and Telegraph Service.

WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the second day of May, one thousand nine hundred and eight, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the fourteenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and eight, regulations were made under the authority of “The Electric Lines Act, 1884,” “The Post and Telegraph Classification and Regulation Act, 1890,” “The Post and Telegraph Classification and Regulation Act Amendment Act, 1891,” “The Post and Telegraph Department Act, 1894,” “The Post Office Act, 1900,” “The Post and Telegraph Department Act, 1902,” “The Post Office Act Amendment Act, 1906,” and “The Post and Telegraph Classification Act, 1907,” prescribing, inter alia, the maximum and minimum ages for admission of female employees to the Post and Telegraph Department:
And whereas it is expedient to amend such regulations in the manner hereinafter set forth:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon him by “The Post and Telegraph Act, 1908,” and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke subclause (b) of Regulation 14 in the Schedule to the hereinbefore-mentioned Order in Council, and in lieu thereof doth make the regulation set forth in the Schedule hereto, and doth order that such regulation shall be read as part of the regulations hereinbefore mentioned, and shall have effect on and after the date of publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.
SCHEDULE.
- (b.) The minimum age for admission shall be sixteen years, and the maximum age twenty-five years, except in the case of women appointed as Matrons, Supervisors, Postmistresses, Telegraphists, Book-keepers, Assistants, and Counter-women, who may be appointed at any age not less than twenty years or more than forty-five years.
