Notice respecting Proposed Alteration in Boundaries of Hastings Borough.

Wellington, 3rd July, 1909.
PURSUANT to section 118 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” His Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified that petitions in accordance with regulations, signed by not less than one-fourth of the electors of each of the areas described in the Schedule hereto, have been presented to him, praying that the said areas may be excluded from the Borough of Hastings and included in the County of Hawke’s Bay. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to, or petitions against, the proposed alteration within one month from the first publication of this notice. Such objections or petitions are to be addressed and forwarded to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
AREAS PROPOSED TO BE EXCLUDED FROM THE BOROUGH OF HASTINGS AND TO BE INCLUDED IN THE HERETAUNGA RIDING OF THE COUNTY OF HAWKE’S BAY.
ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, being part of the Borough of Hastings, bounded towards the north-west by the north-western side of Pakowhai Road, from a point in line with the north-eastern side of Fitzroy Road to a point in line with the north-eastern side of Frederic Road West; thence towards the north-east by a right line across Pakowhai Road, and by the north-eastern side of Frederic Road West to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Section No. 225; thence towards the south-east by a right line across the last-mentioned road to the easternmost corner of the said Section No. 225; thence by the south-eastern boundary of that section to Duke Street; thence by a right line across Duke Street to its junction with Gray’s Road; thence by Gray’s Road to Fitzroy Road; thence towards the south-west by Fitzroy Road to Pakowhai Road, and a right line across the last-mentioned road to its north-western side, the place of commencement.
All that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, being part of the Borough of Hastings, bounded towards the north-east generally by the north-eastern boundary of the Borough of Hastings, from the north-western side of Pakowhai Road to the easternmost corner of the said borough; thence towards the south-east by the south-eastern boundary of the Borough of Hastings to the north-eastern side of Louie Street; thence towards the south-west generally by Louie Street to Selwood Road; thence across and by that road to Park Terrace; thence by Park Terrace and Park Road to Albert Street; thence by Albert Street to Sylvan Road; thence towards the north-west by Sylvan Road to a point in line with the north-eastern side of Jervois Street; thence again towards the south-west by a right line across Sylvan Road and by Jervois Street to Willow Park Road; thence again towards the north-west by Willow Park Road to Grove Road; thence again towards the north-east by a right line across Willow Park Road to the southernmost corner of Section No. 166; thence by the south-western boundary of that section to Stanley Street; thence by Stanley Street and Frederic Road West and the production of the north-eastern side of the last-mentioned road to the north-western side of Pakowhai Road; and thence again towards the north-west by the north-western side of the said Pakowhai Road to the north-eastern boundary of the Borough of Hastings, the place of commencement.
All that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, being part of the Borough of Hastings, bounded towards the north-west by Park Road, from the south-western side of Copeland Road to Havelock Road; thence towards the north-east by Havelock Road to the south-eastern boundary of the Borough of Hastings; thence towards the south-east by the said south-eastern boundary to a point in line with the south-western side of Copeland Road; and thence towards the south-west by a right line across North Road, and by the south-western side of Copeland Road to Park Road, the place of commencement.
