SAUNDERS STREET.
Also Saunders Street, being all that portion of road in the Mackenzie Town District, in the Canterbury Land District, Cheviot County, commencing on the south side of Cadman Street, between Block XXVII, in the said town district, and the Park and Botanical Gardens Reserve, Block VII, Cheviot Survey District, and extending in a south-westerly direction, and terminating at its junction with Hutchison Street, being a distance of 9 chains, or thereabouts.
As the said roads are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 24769, and deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured green.

Declaring a Road in the Hawke’s Bay County to be a Government Road.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1908,” and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, be a Government road.

Authorising Maori Land Board to approve of Alienation of Flax on Native Land.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this fourteenth day of June, 1909.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section twenty-six of “The Maori Land Claims Adjustment and Laws Amendment Act, 1907,” it is provided that where any instrument of alienation or partial alienation of flax or other indigenous usufructs upon Native lands has been executed prior to the passing of the said Act, any party thereto may apply to the Maori Land Board of the district in which such lands are situate, within two months of the passing of the said Act, for its approval of such alienation:
And whereas on the twentieth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and eight, application was made to the Ikaroa District Maori Land Board for its approval of an alienation under license to cut flax, dated the tenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and seven, from Eriata Nopera and others to Edmund Lowther Broad and others, authorising the licensees to cut flax on the block of Native land known as Eparaima D for the term from the tenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and seven, to the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, for the consideration therein expressed:
And whereas, after due inquiry, the Board has reported to the Native Minister that such alienation should be permitted:
And whereas the Native Minister has approved such report and referred the same to the Governor in Council, as required by the said Act:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred on him by the above-in-part-recited Act, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorise the said Ikaroa District Maori Land Board to approve, by minute indorsed thereon, of the said license ordering such alienation before mentioned.

Exempting Portions of Mill Road Extension and Te Rauparaha Street, Otaki, from the Provisions of Section 117 of “The Public Works Act, 1908.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this fourteenth day of June, 1909.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by subsection one of section one hundred and seventeen of “The Public Works Act, 1908,” it is, inter alia, provided that the said section shall not apply in any case where the local authority having control of a road or street by resolution declares that the provisions thereof shall not apply to any specified road or street, or any specified part thereof, and such resolution is approved by the Governor in Council:
And whereas by subsection two of section one hundred and seventeen of “The Public Works Act, 1908,” it is provided that such approval may be either absolute or subject to such conditions as the Governor by Order in Council thinks fit to impose:
And whereas on the twelfth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and eight, the Horowhenua County Council, the local authority having control of the portions of roads known as Mill Road Extension and Te Rauparaha Street, described in the Schedule hereto, did by resolution declare that the provisions of the said section one hundred and seventeen should not apply to the said roads:
And whereas it is deemed expedient that such resolution should be approved:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by the above-in-part-recited Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the said resolution.
SCHEDULE.
That portion of road known as Mill Road Extension, Otaki, in the Horowhenua County and Wellington Land District, commencing from its intersection with Te Rauparaha Street, Otaki, and extending in a westerly direction to the boundary of the Moutere Block, C.T. 36/213.
Also that portion of road known as Te Rauparaha Street, Otaki, in the Horowhenua County and Wellington Land District, commencing at its intersection with Mill Road, and extending in a northerly direction to the northern boundary of Lots 26-30, Te Awamate, C.T. 115/291.
As the said roads are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 24715, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.
