THE CHRISTCHURCH DRAINAGE BOARD,
INCORPORATED BY AND ACTING UNDER AUTHORITY OF ACTS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF NEW ZEALAND, 1875 TO 1908 INCLUSIVE.

Special Order making Special Rate.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and amendments, “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” and “The Christchurch District Drainage Act 1875 Amendment Act, 1905,” the Christchurch Drainage Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £100,000 (one hundred thousand pounds), authorised to be raised by the Christchurch Drainage Board, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the following purposes, to wit,—

(a.) The payment of commission charges and expenses incurred in connection with obtaining authority to raise, and the raising of, the said loan;

(b.) The extension and improvement of the sewerage system of the Board throughout the whole or any portion or portions of the district known as “the sewage area” as the same is now constituted or as the same may hereafter be extended;

(c.) The addition to and improvement of the machinery and plant at the pumping-station of the Board, providing extra pumping-stations and machinery where necessary, and procuring and providing electrical power for use at any such pumping-station;

(d.) The providing and laying a second main delivery-pipe from the said pumping-station to the Board’s sewage-farm at Bromley;

(e.) The preparation of land at the said sewage-farm for treatment with sewage;

(f.) Any balance which, in the opinion of the Board, may remain after satisfying the purposes aforesaid may be applied to such other purposes connected with the said sewage system as the Board may think desirable—

the said Christchurch Drainage Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-fifth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property within that part of the Christchurch Drainage District which is known as “the sewage area” as now constituted and as the same may hereafter be extended; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years from the 1st day of July, 1906, or until the loan is fully paid off.

The resolution to make this order was adopted at a special meeting of the said Board held at its office, Hereford Street, in the City of Christchurch, on the 23rd day of April, 1909,

and the said resolution was confirmed at a meeting of the Board held at the same place on the 22nd day of May, 1909. The seal of the Christchurch Drainage Board was affixed to this special order by us, the undersigned, pursuant to resolution of the Board, this 22nd day of May, 1909.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us, the undersigned, carrying on business as Glassware and General Merchants at Hunter Street, Wellington, under the style or firm of “J. Myers and Co.,” has by mutual consent been dissolved, as from the 1st day of April, 1909, so far as concerns Mr. Judah Myers, who retires from the said firm.

All debts due to and owing by the late firm will be received and paid respectively by the undersigned Solomon Hyam Myers, John Myers, and Philip Myers, who will continue to carry on the said business in partnership under the same style or firm of “J. Myers and Co.”
