Opening Land in Auckland Land District for Sale or
Selection.
PLUNKET, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by “The Land Act, 1908,” I,
William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion
of New Zealand, having received the report of the
Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided in section
one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare
that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be
open for sale or selection on Wednesday, the first day of
September, one thousand nine hundred and nine; and also
that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may, at
the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be
selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renew-
able lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the
said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in
the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said land
shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the
provisions of “The Land Act, 1908.”

Altitude, 600 ft. to 700 ft. above sea-level. Undulating to
hilly land; fern and old kauri workings; clay soil of inferior
quality, on sandstone formation; water can be obtained by
sinking. Distant about one mile from Swanson Railway-
station by formed road partly metalled.

Long spurs and gullies with fairly easy slopes covered with
forest, chiefly birch, with a little rimu and kahikatea; under-
growth horopito, papauma, and birch scrub; soil inferior
stony on spurs and ridges, but fair in gullies and on slopes
and flats. Formation, sandstone-and-clay gravels. Altitude,
1,000 ft. to 2,000 ft. About fourteen miles from Kohatu Rail-
way-station. Sale Plan 76.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by “The Land Act, 1908,” I,
William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion
of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the lands described
in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renew-
able lease on Wednesday, the thirtieth day of June, one
thousand nine hundred and nine, at the rentals men-
tioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the
said lands shall be leased under and subject to section one
hundred and thirty-five of the said Act, as they contain, or
are supposed to contain, metal, mineral, or valuable stone.
