Declaring Mangahua East Road, in the Kiwitea County, to be a County Road.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this eighteenth day of May, 1909.

Present:
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, K.C.M.G., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1908,” and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, be a county road.

SCHEDULE.
MANGAHUA EAST ROAD.

ALL that road in the Wellington Land District, Kiwitea County, known as the Mangahua East Road, commencing at its junction with the Apiti Main South Road, near the most northern corner of Section 10, Block I, Umutoti Survey District, and proceeding thence in a south-easterly direction to its junction with the Te Para Para and Conspicuous Roads and the most southern corner of Section 12 (a reserve), a distance of 1 mile 18 chains, more or less; as the said road is more particularly delineated on plan marked R. 5786, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and coloured red, and marked A.B. thereon.

Declaring Whinray Road, in the Opotiki County, to be a County Road.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1908,” and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, be a county road.

SCHEDULE.
WHINRAY ROAD.

ALL that portion of road in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, Opotiki County, known as the Whinray Road, commencing at its junction with the Pakihi Road, near Motu Village, and proceeding thence in an easterly direction for a distance of 1 mile 73 chains, and ends at its junction with the western boundary of Section 6, Block IV, Urutawa East Survey District; as the said road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked R. 9641, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

Declaring Portion of the Matapuna-Ohakune Road, in the Waimarino County, to be a County Road.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this eighteenth day of May, 1909.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1908,” and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, be a county road.

SCHEDULE.
MATAPUNA–OHAKUNE ROAD.

ALL that portion of road in the Wellington Land District, Waimarino County, known as the Matapuna–Ohakune Road, commencing at the boundary between the West Taupo and Waimarino Counties, at its junction with Patua Road, and proceeding in a southerly direction generally through Blocks VIII and XII, Kaitieke Survey District, and terminating at the junction with the Kaitieke Road, opposite the Raurimu Railway-station, being a distance of seven miles, more or less; as the said road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked R. 5849, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

Exempting Bassett Road, Hawtrey Settlement, in the Makara County, from the Provisions of Section 117 of “The Public Works Act, 1908.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this eighteenth day of May, 1909.

Present:
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, K.C.M.G., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by subsection one of section one hundred and seventeen of “The Public Works Act, 1908,” it is, inter alia, provided that the said section shall not apply in any case where the local authority having control of a road or street by resolution declares that the provisions thereof shall not apply to any specified road or street, or any specified part thereof, and such resolution is approved by the Governor in Council:

And whereas by subsection two of section one hundred and seventeen of “The Public Works Act, 1908,” it is provided that such approval may be either absolute or subject to such conditions as the Governor by Order in Council thinks fit to impose:

And whereas on the eighth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and nine, the Council of the County of Makara, the local authority having control of the road known as Bassett Road, described in the Schedule hereto, did by resolution declare that the provisions of the said section one hundred and seventeen should not apply to the said road:

And whereas it is deemed expedient that such resolution should be approved:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by the above-in-part-recited Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the said resolution.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that road in the Wellington Land District, Makara County, known as Bassett Road, Hawtrey Settlement, commencing at its junction with the Ohariu Road, at the south-east corner of Section 17, Sub-block V, Hawtrey Settlement, and proceeding thence in a north-easterly direction generally until it junctions with the Porirua Road, on the eastern boundary of Section 3, Sub-block III, Hawtrey Settlement, a distance of 25 chains, more or less; as the said road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked R. 8734A, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon shown in red colour.
