Postmasters appointed to take and receive Statutory Declarations.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of “The Justices of the Peace Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that

JAMES MEREDITH and
ERIC U’REN RICHARDSON,

being persons holding the office of Postmaster under “The Post and Telegraph Act, 1908,” at Cabbage Bay and Wharekopae respectively, are authorised to take and receive statutory declarations under the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of “The Justices of the Peace Act, 1908.”

As witness my hand, this tenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and nine.

Abolishing District Court Districts.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by “The District Courts Act, 1908” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor from time to time as he thinks fit, by Proclamation, to constitute throughout New Zealand, or in any part thereof, districts within which Courts of record, to be called “District Courts,” shall be held, and to abolish such districts :

And whereas His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand did, by Proclamations made and issued from time to time under and in pursuance of the Acts consolidated by the said Act, constitute and define the districts named in the Schedule hereto to be District Court Districts, and those districts are now subsisting :

And whereas it is expedient to abolish the said districts :

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by the said Act, and of every other power and authority enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the District Court Districts named in the Schedule hereto (being all the District Court Districts now subsisting) shall be and remain abolished on and after the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and nine.

Waikato and Thames. Westland.
Wairarapa. Timaru and Oamaru.
Taranaki. Ashburton.
Wanganui. Otago Goldfields.
Nelson. Western Otago.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this ninth day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and nine.
