THIS is to certify that , of , who was born at , on the day of , 18 , has passed an examination, and satisfied the Board of Examiners that he is entitled to a Certificate of Competency as a Locomotive- and Traction-engine Driver, under subsection (2) of section 41 of “The Inspection of Machinery Act, 1908.”
This certificate entitles the holder thereof to drive and have charge of any steam-engine (other than a winding-engine or a land stationary engine the area of cylinder or combined area of cylinders of which exceeds 200 circular inches), and of any boiler.

Declaring Roads in the Mackenzie Town District to be Government Roads.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twentieth day of April, 1909.

PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1908,” and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the roads described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, be Government roads.
SCHEDULE.
WARD STREET.
Ward Street, being all that portion of road in the Mackenzie Town District, in the Canterbury Land District, Cheviot County, commencing at the north-west corner of Recreation Reserve and corner of Miller Street, Block VII, Cheviot Survey District, and extending generally in an easterly direction, and terminating at the north-west corner of Hall Street, being a distance of 44 chains, or thereabouts.
CADMAN STREET.
Also Cadman Street, being all that portion of road in the Mackenzie Town District, in the Canterbury Land District, Cheviot County, commencing at the south-west corner of Recreation Reserve and Miller Street, Block VII, Cheviot Survey District, and extending generally in an easterly direction, and terminating at its junction with Carroll Street, being a distance of 60 chains, or thereabouts.
SEDdon STREET.
Also Seddon Street, being all that portion of road in the Mackenzie Town District, in the Canterbury Land District, Cheviot County, commencing at a line drawn diagonally from the south-west corner of Section 1 to the north-west corner of Section 2, both comprising the West Town Belt, Block VII, Cheviot Survey District, and extending generally in an easterly direction, and terminating at the western side of the Woolshed Stream, being a distance of 57 chains, or thereabouts.
REEVES STREET.
Also Reeves Street, being all that portion of road in the Mackenzie Town District, in the Canterbury Land District, Cheviot County, commencing at the West Town Belt at the south end of Fox Street, Block VII, Cheviot Survey District, and extending generally in an easterly direction, and terminating at Section 83, being a distance of 51 chains 25 links, or thereabouts.
MCQUEEN ROAD.
Also McQueen Road, being all that portion of road in the Mackenzie Town District, in the Canterbury Land District, Cheviot County, commencing at the junction of Seddon and Robinson Streets with it, Block VII, Cheviot Survey District, and extending in a north-easterly and then easterly direction, and terminating at the eastern boundary of the Mackenzie Town District, the south-east corner of Section 37, being a distance of 30 chains, or thereabouts.
Also all that portion of road in the Mackenzie Town District, in the Canterbury Land District, Cheviot County, commencing at the north-east corner of Carroll Street, Block VII, Cheviot Survey District, and extending in a south-easterly direction along the southern bank of McQueen Stream, and terminating at the north-east corner of Section 8, Block XXIX, in the Mackenzie Town District, being a distance of 12 chains 50 links, or thereabouts.
As the said roads are more particularly delineated on the plan marked R. 10689, and deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured pink.
FOX STREET.
Fox Street, being all that portion of road in the Mackenzie Town District, in the Canterbury Land District, Cheviot County, commencing on the north side of Reeves Street at its western end, Block VII, Cheviot Survey District, and extending in a northerly direction, and terminating on the south side of Cadman Street, being a distance of 20 chains, or thereabouts.
FITZHERBERT STREET.
Also Fitzherbert Street, being all that portion of road in the Mackenzie Town District, in the Canterbury Land District, Cheviot County, commencing on the north side of Reeves Street between Blocks II and IV of the said town district, Block VII, Cheviot Survey District, and extending in a northerly direction, and terminating on the south side of Cadman Street, being a distance of 20 chains, or thereabouts.
ATKINSON STREET.
Also Atkinson Street, being all that portion of road in the Mackenzie Town District, in the Canterbury Land District, Cheviot County, commencing on the north side of Reeves Street between Blocks IV and VII of the said town district, Block VII, Cheviot Survey District, and extending in a northerly direction, and terminating on the south side of Ward Street, being a distance of 26 chains 25 links, or thereabouts.
