ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this thirty
first day of March, 1909.

Present :

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, K.C.M.G.,
PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him
by “The Public Works Act, 1908,” and of all other
powers enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the
Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said Dominion, doth hereby declare that the land described
that a certain road at Addington, on the Lyttelton-Bluff
Railway, taken for a road-diversion, which said land is
described in the Schedule hereto, and which said land was
hitherto heavy of Government road, is hereby by means of
this notice declared to be, from the date of this Order in
Council, become a district road.

SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land in the Land District of Canterbury,
containing 6 perches, more or less, being a person
of railway land at Addington, being part of Rural Section
86, and 16, 17, and 18, situated in the Block XI, Christchurch
Survey District, and being more particularly delineated as
road-diversion in connection with the Hartsbrook-Whittaker
Roadway on a plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor
Department of Lands at Christchurch, and numbered 51, on
the 5th day of November, 1908, as the said parcel of land
is more particularly delineated in the deposited plan and the
on plan marked W.R. 2072, deposited in the office of the
Minister of Railways at Wellington.

“The Public Bodies' Leases Act, 1908.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this twentieth
day of April, 1909.

Present :

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, K.C.M.G.,
PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by the Weber County Council is a body of
persons having power to lease land held in trust
reserved by them, but has no power in this behalf, now
the Governor in Council to declare it to be a leasing autho
rity for the purposes of “The Public Bodies’ Leases Act,
1908”:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of
quest, and in exercise of the powers in this behalf conferred
by the above-recited Act, and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby
doth hereby order and declare that the Weber
County Council is a leasing authority within the meaning
of “The Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908.”

Validating District Electors Roll, Borough of Timaru.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this twentieth
day of April, 1909.

Present :

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, K.C.M.G.,
PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS it has been made to appear that the dis
trict electors roll for the Borough of Timaru for the
year one thousand nine hundred and nine was prepared
and completed pursuant to the provisions of “The Municipal
Corporations Act, 1908,” and it is expedient to validate the
same:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Dominion of New Zealand, by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in him by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,”
doth hereby declare that the district electors roll for the
Borough of Timaru for the year commencing on the first
day of April, one thousand nine hundred and nine, as pre
pared and completed as aforesaid, shall be and be deemed to
have been prepared and completed in compliance with the
same had been prepared and completed within the time re
quired by the last Act for the preparation thereof.

Extending Hour for closing Poll, Avondale Road Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this twentieth
day of April, 1909.

Present :

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, K.C.M.G.,
PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in him by “The Local Elections and Polls Act,
1908,” His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of
New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby
declare, in so far as it may now take, for the election of
members of the Avondale Road Board, to be held and taken
notices of on the 5th day of May, one thousand nine hundred
and nine, that the hour for closing the poll be seven of the
clock in the evening on the 5th day of May, one thousand
nine hundred and nine, or at such other hour as the order on
the same day.

Paradise Duck protected.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance of the powers vested in me by “The
Animals Protection Act, 1908,” His Excellency the
Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do
thus and of all other powers enabling him in this behalf,
5th day of April, one thousand nine hundred and nine, the
period of protection for Paradise duck in South Canterbury
and Southland has been extended for a further period:
Provided, however, that the said bird may be taken or killed
by the holder of an ordinary or a settler’s license from the
Acclimatisation District for a period of fourteen days from
the twelfth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and
thousand nine hundred and nine, both days inclusive.

And it is also declared that the total number of the said
bird and killed by the holder of an ordinary or a settler’s
acclimatisation districts by any one person during the said
period of fourteen days shall not exceed fifty birds.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-second day of April, one thousand nine
hundred and nine.
