Notice respecting Proposed Borough of Papanui, County of Selwyn.

Office of the Minister of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 9th January, 1909.

PURSUANT to section 117 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” His Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified that a petition has been presented to him, praying for the constitution of the area described in the Schedule hereto as a borough under the said Act, to be named the Borough of Papanui. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to, or petitions against, the constitution of the said borough which they may desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.


SCHEDULE.

DESCRIPTION OF BOUNDARIES OF PROPOSED BOROUGH OF PAPANUI.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District situated in Blocks VI, VII, X, and XI, Christchurch Survey District. Bounded towards the north generally by Sawyers’ Arms Road from its junction with Reece’s Road to Vitch’s Road, thence by Vitch’s Road to Boundary-drain Road, thence by Boundary-drain Road to Tucker’s Road, thence by Tucker’s Road to North Road, thence by North Road to Daniell’s Road, thence by Daniell’s Road to Grimsey’s Road, thence towards the east by Grimsey’s Road to Winter’s Road, thence again towards the north by Winter’s Road to Philpott’s Road, thence again towards the east by Philpott’s Road to Innes’s Road, thence towards the south-east generally by the City of Christchurch to the junction of Norman’s Road with Wairarapa Road, thence towards the south-west by Wairarapa Road to Sawyers’ Arms Junction Road, thence towards the north-west by the last-mentioned road to Harewood Road, thence again towards the south-west by Harewood Road to Reece’s Road, and thence again towards the north-west by Reece’s Road to the place of commencement.

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 15 of “The Land Act, 1908,” I, Joseph George Ward, Minister of Lands, do hereby authorise the laying-off of Karaka, Matai, Manuka, Nikau, and Cornfoot Extension Streets, in the Township of Castlecliff Extension No. 1, Wellington Land District, of a width of not less than 66 ft. each, instead of 99 ft.
