MATAKITAKI RIDING.

All that area in the Nelson Land District bounded towards the north by the Maruia North and Hampden Ridings, hereinbefore described, from the watershed between the Maruia and Matakitaki Rivers to the eastern watershed of the last-mentioned river; thence towards the east and north-east by the eastern and north-eastern watershed of that river to the county boundary; thence towards the south-east by Amuri County; and towards the south and west generally by the Maruia South and Maruia North Ridings, hereinbefore described, to the place of commencement.

MATIRI RIDING.

All that area in the Nelson Land District bounded towards the north-east by Waimea County from the summit of the main range between the head-waters of the Mokihinui and Whangapeka Rivers to the watershed between the Matiri and Owen Rivers; thence towards the east generally by that watershed and the watershed between the Matiri and Buller Rivers to the southern boundary of Section No. 8, Block XIV, Matiri Survey District; thence by the said southern boundary of that section to the Buller River; thence towards the south generally by the Buller River to Husband’s Creek; thence towards the west generally by the Maruia North Riding, hereinbefore described, and Buller County to the place of commencement.

BRAEBURN RIDING.

All that area in the Nelson Land District bounded towards the north generally by the southern boundary of Section No. 9, Block XV, Matiri Survey District, from the Buller River to the south-eastern corner of that section; thence by the watershed between the Mangles River and Nuggety Creek to Mount Murchison; thence by a right line to the confluence of the Buller and Gowan Rivers; thence by the Buller River to a point distant one mile south-westerly from the confluence of the Hope and Buller Rivers; thence towards the north-east by the eastern watershed of the Gowan and Sabine Rivers, over Mount Travers, to the summit of Spencer Range; thence towards the south-east by Amuri County; and towards the south-west and west generally by the Matakitaki, Hampden, and Matiri Ridings, hereinbefore described, and the Buller River to the place of commencement.

OWEN RIDING.

All that area in the Nelson Land District bounded towards the north-east generally by Waimea County from the eastern boundary of Matiri Riding, hereinbefore described, to Amuri County; thence towards the south-east by Amuri County to the eastern boundary of Braeburn Riding, hereinbefore described, near Mount Travers; thence towards the west and south generally by the said Braeburn and Matiri Ridings; and again towards the west generally by the Matiri Riding to the place of commencement.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this second day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and nine.

Land taken for Street Purposes in the City of Wellington.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1908,” for a certain work, to wit, for street purposes in the City of Wellington:

And whereas the Council of the City of Wellington has laid before the Governor a memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration, as required by the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” and “The Public Works Act, 1908,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for street purposes in the City of Wellington, and shall vest in the Corporation of the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Wellington.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this thirteenth day of March, 1909.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by “The Valuation of Land Act, 1908,” His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and direct that the district valuation rolls for the special districts enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be revised by the Valuer-General, as at the 31st March, 1909.
