THE following special order, made by the Masterton
County Council, is published in accordance with the
provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.”

MASTERTON COUNTY.

Special Order making Special Rate.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” the Masterton County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the
purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan
of £6,300, authorised to be raised by the Masterton County
Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for bridge-building
and metalling on the Weraiti–Fernyhurst Road, the said
Masterton County Council hereby makes and levies a special
rate of 1½d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rate-

able property of the Masterton to East Coast Road (via
Weraiti) Loan Special-rating District, comprised within the
following boundaries—that is to say, commencing at the
northernmost corner of Section 93, Block VII, Otahoua
Survey District, and proceeding in a south-easterly direction
bounded by Sections 575, 576, 577, 578, 588, 516, 590,
Block VII, Otahoua Survey District, to the Wainuioru
River; thence by the said river to its intersection with the
western boundary of Section 603, Block IX, Rewa Survey
District; thence by Section 602 in the last-mentioned block,
by Sections 573, 564, 664, and 665, Block V, by Sections 666,
667, Block VI, to the Boundary Trigonometrical Station;
thence, proceeding in a south-easterly direction, by the forest
reserve in Block X, by Section 1, Block XI, Section 887, and
by part of the north-east boundary of Section 893, Block XIV;
thence by lines so as to exclude from the area a triangular
piece of land containing 17 acres 3 roods 31 perches, parts of
Sections 886 and 885, in the last-mentioned block, to the
Rewa Trigonometrical Station; thence by Sections 892, 896,
and by part of the north boundary of Section 903, Block XIV,
to the public road forming the western and southern boundaries of the last-mentioned section; thence, proceeding southwards, by the said road and by Small Grazing-run 56 to the
north-east boundary of Te Maipi Native Reserve; thence,
proceeding in a north-westerly direction, by Subdivisions 9,
6, and 7 of the said Native reserve, Blocks II and I, Kaiwhata Survey District; thence by Section 1 in the last-mentioned block, by Small Grazing-runs 49 and 48 in
Blocks I, Kaiwhata, and IV and VIII, Wainuioru, and by
Section 7 in the last-mentioned block to the Kuamahanga
Stream; thence, proceeding in a north-westerly direction,
by the said stream to its point of intersection with the
western boundary of Section 122, Block III, Wainuioru
Survey District, by the said boundary to Karamu South
Trig.; thence by lines bearing 215 deg. 16 min., 1060·8 links;
220 deg. 51 min., 448·7 links; 221 deg. 01 min., 1742·4 links;
228 deg. 04 min., 260 links; 228 deg. 21 min., 942·5 links;
252 deg. 19 min., 1376·9 links; 220 deg. 53 min., 357·1 links;
220 deg. 51 min., 402 links; 220 deg. 58 min., 764·9 links;
239 deg. 57 min., 1358·7 links; and 200 deg. 07 min.,
546·3 links, to Karamu N. Trig.; thence, proceeding westwards, by part of the north boundary of Section 62,
Block XV, Otahoua Survey District, and by that line produced westwards to the western boundary of Section 63 in
the last-mentioned block; thence, proceeding south, by the
last-mentioned boundary to the southernmost corner of
Section 50 in the same block, by the south boundary of
said Section 50 to the Wainuioru Stream; thence by a right
line to the south-eastern corner of Section 73, Block XV;
thence by Section 74 in the last-mentioned block, by Section 64, Block XIV, and by part of the north boundary of
Section 51 in the last-mentioned block, all in the Otahoua
Survey District, to the boundary of the Wairarapa South
County; thence, proceeding in a northerly direction, by the
said county boundary to the Tauaru River; thence by the
southern and south-western boundaries of Subdivisions 22,
17, 13, 10, 9, 8, 7, and 1 of the Weraiti Estate to the
Wangaehu Stream; thence, proceeding northwards, by the
Wangaehu Stream, and, trending in a south-easterly direction, by the north-eastern boundaries of Subdivisions 6, 12,
15, 18, of the said Weraiti Estate to the Tauaru River, and
proceeding north by the said river to the point of commencement: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be
payable half-yearly on the 1st day of February and the
1st day of August in each and every year during the currency
of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the
loan is fully paid off.

Passed at a special meeting of the Council, this 9th day of
February, 1909.
