Notice respecting Proposed Alteration in Boundaries of Foxton Borough.

Office of the Minister of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 19th February, 1909.

Pursuant to section 118 of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908," His Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified that a petition in accordance with regulations, signed by not less than one-fourth of the electors of the area described in the Schedule hereto, has been presented to him, praying that the said area may be excluded from the Borough of Foxton and included in the County of Manawatu. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to, or petitions against, the proposed alteration within one month from the first publication of this notice. Such objections or petitions are to be addressed and forwarded to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

Area Proposed to be Excluded from the Borough of Foxton and to be Included in the County of Manawatu.

All that area in the Wellington Land District bounded towards the north by Section No. 464, Block V, Mount Robinson Survey District, from Spring Street to Baker Street; thence by a right line across Baker Street, and by the southern side of the road forming part of the southern boundary of the said Section No. 464 to the road known as No. 6 Line; thence towards the east by the said No. 6 Line to the southern side of Moutoa Street; thence towards the south by the southern sides of Moutoa and Union Streets to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Section No. 215, Township of Foxton; and thence towards the north-west by a right line to the south-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; thence by that section to its north-eastern corner; thence by a right line to the south-eastern corner of Section No. 514; thence by the last-mentioned section, the abutment of a public road, and Sections Nos. 493 and 492, Township of Foxton, to the north-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; thence by a right line across Avenue Road to the westernmost corner of Section No. 317; and thence by the south-eastern side of Spring Street to the place of commencement.

Special Order made by the Waiuku Road Board, County of Manukau.

The following special order, made by the Waiuku Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1908.”

WAIUKU ROAD BOARD.

Special Order making Special Rate.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” the Waiuku Road Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £4,000, authorised to be raised by the Waiuku Road Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for metalling the main roads in the Akaaka Special-rating Area from Spencer’s western boundary of Section 226 to Hill’s Road at the eastern drain and to the Hermitage Corner, Section 32, Waiuku East Parish, being a portion of the Waiuku Road District, the said Waiuku Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of ½d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all the rateable property in the Akaaka Special-rating Area, comprised within the following boundaries and being a portion of the Waiuku Road District—commencing at the eastern boundary of Lot 256 at the Waikato River, and following the boundary-line dividing the Waiuku Road District from the Pukekohe West Road District in a north and north-easterly direction to the eastern boundary of Section 238; thence still following the boundary-line of the aforesaid road districts along the northern boundaries of Sections 238, 234, 214, 75; thence towards the south along the western boundaries of Sections 75, 74, 71, 68, 32, 31, 225, and 226; and thence across the road along the western boundary of 3567, III, Te Uku, and No. 2B, Te Uku, to the Waikato River, being the boundary-line between the Waiuku and Waipipi Road Districts; thence along the north bank of the Waikato River to the point of commencement at Lot 256: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off; the interest on such loan being at the rate of 3½ per cent. per annum.

I hereby certify that the above special order was duly passed in accordance with “The Road Boards Act, 1908.”

Special Order made by the Council of the Borough of Waitara.

BOROUGH OF WAITARA.

Special Order.

This is to certify that at a special meeting of the Council held on the 7th day of October, 1908, the following resolution was duly passed, and confirmed at a meeting held on the 4th day of November, 1908:

In pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” the Waitara Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, in order to secure the interest and other charges on a loan of £15,000, authorised by the Council to be raised under the above-mentioned Act, the Council of the Borough of Waitara make and levy a special rate of 1½d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property comprised within the borough; and that such rate shall be an annually recurring one during the currency of the loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 30th day of September in each year during the currency of the loan, which is for a period of twenty years, or until such loan is fully paid off.

Special Order made by the Council of the Borough of Palmerston.

The following special order, made by the Palmerston Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.”

PALMERSTON BOROUGH.

Water-supply Loan of £4,000 for Forty-one Years at 3½ per Cent.

This is to certify that at a special meeting of the Council held on the 28th day of December, 1908, the following resolution was passed:

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in its behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” the Palmerston Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan to be raised by the Palmerston Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for providing a gravitation scheme to bring water from the Blue Mountain to Palmerston, the said Palmerston Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ½d. in the pound upon all rateable value of rateable property of the Palmerston Borough; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of February and the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

At the ordinary meeting held on the 2nd day of February, 1909, the following resolution was passed:

That the special resolution passed on the 28th day of December, 1908, re special rate of ½d. in the pound for the proposed loan of £4,000 at 3½ per cent. for forty-one years, be confirmed.—Carried.
