Notifying Land in Southland Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-twenty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Wednesday, the twenty-first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and nine, as the time at which the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the price at which the said land shall be sold as that mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

Opening Lands in Westland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The Land Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Wednesday, the fourteenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and nine, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to section one hundred and thirty-five of the said Act, as they contain or are supposed to contain metal, mineral, or valuable stone.

WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT.—WESTLAND COUNTY.
Second-class Unsurveyed Land.

Exempt from rent for ten years.

All swamp; drainable by creeks traversing the areas; liable in parts to partial flooding; patches of sound land in islands, tongues, and strips. Not directly accessible by roads at present. Situated on north bank of Waiatoto River, near the mouth. Sale plan 90.

Exempt from rent for ten years.

All flat swamp country, with old fringes and islands of manuka scrub; not easily drained; inferior land. Close to metalled horse-tracks and sea-beach, but in the main without direct access at present. Sale plan 90.

Situated on south bank of Waitangitaona River. Access by dray-road from Port of Okarito, nine miles. Terraced, and thickly covered with bush; also river-flats. Sale Plan 91.

About 25 acres of Section 2489 is swampy; the remainder of the area fairly level land of medium quality, carrying heavy bush of rimu, kamahi, and silver-birch. Pastoral land; well watered. Situated on south bank of Okuru River, about seven miles from Okuru Post and Telephone Office and boat-landing. Access by river-bed. Sale plan 98.

Good pastoral land; soil good; well watered. Situated on south bank of Okuru River, about five miles and a half from Okuru Post and Telephone Office and boat-landing. Access by river-bed.
