Notice fixing Closing-hours of all Storekeepers' Shops in the South Malvern Road District under the Shops and Offices Act.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all storekeepers' shops in the South Malvern Road District, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the road district shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 9 p.m.; Wednesday, 1 p.m.; Saturday, 10 p.m.: And whereas the South Malvern Road Board has certified that all the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the store-keepers' shops in the road district:

Now, therefore, I, Alexander Wilson Hogg, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of 'The Shops and Offices Act, 1908,' do hereby direct that from and after the 15th day of February, 1909, all storekeepers' shops in the South Malvern Road District shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.

Dated at Wellington, this 10th day of February, 1909.

Notice fixing Closing-hours of Chemists' and Druggists' and Herbalists' Shops in the City of Nelson under the Shops and Offices Act.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of all the chemists’ and druggists’ and herbalists' shops, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: Mondays at 8 p.m.; Tuesdays at 8 p.m.; Wednesday, the weekly half-holiday, at 1 p.m.; Thursday at 8 p.m.; Friday at 8 p.m.; and Saturday at 10 p.m.; except that on holidays shops be allowed to open from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.: And whereas the Nelson City Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the chemists’ and druggists’ and herbalists' shops, combined and separately, in the City of Nelson:

Now, therefore, I, Alexander Wilson Hogg, the Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of 'The Shops and Offices Act, 1908,' do hereby direct that from and after the 15th day of February, 1909, all chemists’ and druggists’ and herbalists' shops, combined and separately, in the City of Nelson shall be closed in accordance with such requisition, excepting that on the half-holiday all such shops may remain open from 7 p.m. till 9 p.m. only for the supply of medicines and surgical appliances which are urgently required.

Notice fixing Closing-hours of all Shops in the Halcombe Town District under the Shops and Offices Act.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the shops in the Halcombe Town District, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all shops within the town district shall be closed in the evening of every working-day as follows: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at 6 p.m.; Wednesday, 1 p.m.; Saturday, 10 p.m.: And whereas the Halcombe Town Board has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all shops within the Halcombe Town District:

Now, therefore, I, Alexander Wilson Hogg, the Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of 'The Shops and Offices Act, 1908,' do hereby direct that from and after the 15th day of February, 1909, all shops in the Halcombe Town District shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.

Varied Notice (No. 3) fixing Closing-hours of Drapers', Tailors', and Mercers' Shops in the City of Nelson.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the drapers', tailors', and mercers' shops in the City of Nelson, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the city shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: Four days in each week at 6.15, and one day in each week at 9.45: And whereas the Nelson City Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the drapers', tailors', and mercers' shops, combined and separately, in the city:

Now, therefore, I, Alexander Wilson Hogg, the Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of 'The Shops and Offices Act, 1908,' do hereby direct that from and after the 15th day of February, 1909, all the drapers’, tailors’, and mercers' shops, combined and separately, in the City of Nelson shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.

The notice gazetted on the 12th day of March, 1908, is hereby varied accordingly.

Varied Notice fixing Closing-hours of Grocers' and Storekeepers' Shops in the Borough of New Brighton under the Shops and Offices Act.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the grocers' and storekeepers’ shops in the Borough of New Brighton, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops within the borough shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: During the months of March, April, May, June, July, August, September, and October, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 7 p.m., on Wednesdays at 1 p.m., and on Saturdays at 10 p.m.; and during the months of November, December, January, and February, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 9 p.m., on Saturdays at 10 p.m., and on Wednesdays at 1 p.m.: And whereas the New Brighton Borough Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all grocers' and storekeepers' shops within the Borough of New Brighton:

Now, therefore, I, Alexander Wilson Hogg, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of 'The Shops and Offices Act, 1908,' do hereby direct that, from and after the 15th day of February, 1909, all grocers' and storekeepers’ shops in the Borough of New Brighton shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.

The notice gazetted the 26th February, 1908, fixing the closing-hours of all such shops in the borough, is hereby varied accordingly.
