Notice respecting Proposed Alteration in Boundaries of Karori Borough.

Office of the Minister of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 11th February, 1909.

PURSUANT to section 118 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” His Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified that a petition in accordance with regulations, signed by not less than one-fourth of the electors of the areas described in the Schedule hereto, has been presented to him, praying that the said areas may be excluded from the Borough of Karori and included in the County of Makara. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to, or petitions against, the proposed alteration within one month from the first publication of this notice. Such objections or petitions are to be addressed and forwarded to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.


SCHEDULE.

AREAS PROPOSED TO BE EXCLUDED FROM THE BOROUGH OF KARORI AND TO BE INCLUDED IN THE COUNTY OF MAKARA.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District being Section No. 41, Block V, Port Nicholson Survey District, and Sections Nos. 40, 58, and parts of 56 and 57, Block VI, bounded towards the north-west generally by the stream forming the eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 23, 25, 27, and 29, Block V aforesaid, from the northernmost corner of Section No. 45 to the northernmost corner of Section No. 40; thence by Section No. 29, Block V, and Sections Nos. 50 and 58, Block VI, to the northernmost corner of Section No. 56; thence towards the north-east by the Otari Native Reserve to Parkvale Road; thence towards the south-east by Parkvale Road to the south-western boundary of Section No. 57, Block VI aforesaid; thence again towards the north-east by the said Section No. 57 to its south-western corner; thence again towards the south-east by Sections Nos. 37, 39, and 40, said Block VI; and towards the south-west by Sections Nos. 42, 43, and 45, Block V aforesaid, to the place of commencement.

Also all that area in the Wellington Land District being Sections Nos. 46, 47, 48, and 53, Block V, Port Nicholson Survey District, Sections Nos. 48, 50, 51, and 52, Block IX, and Sections Nos. 49, 92, and parts of 10 and 11, Block X, Port Nicholson Survey District, bounded towards the north-east generally by Sections Nos. 44, 42, 49, the abutment of Karori Road, and Sections Nos. 43 and 54, Block V aforesaid, Section No. 45, Block IX, and Section No. 47, Block X, to the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence towards the north-west by that section and Sections Nos. 46 and 55, Block VI, to Section No. 9; thence again towards the north-east by the last-mentioned section to the boundary of the City of Wellington; thence towards the east by the City of Wellington to Section No. 69, Block X aforesaid; thence towards the south generally by the last-mentioned section, and Section No. 68, Block IX aforesaid, to the southernmost corner of Section No. 52; and thence towards the west generally by Sections Nos. 67 and 6, Block IX, and Sections Nos. 8, 10, 12, 14, and 16, Block V, Port Nicholson Survey District, to Section No. 44, the place of commencement.
