No. 26971.—8th December, 1908.—EDWIN GOODWIN, of Spring Hill, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia, Engine-driver. Combined automatic isolating and communicating compressed-air valve.

[NOTE.—This is an application under the International and Inter-colonial Arrangements, the date given being the official date of the application in Australia.]

Claims.—(1.) In a combined automatic isolating and communicating compressed-air valve, the combination of the main valve 1, having screwed openings at each end for pipe connection, a cylinder screwed into top of same provided with a vent-hole, a cover screwed into the top of the said cylinder and having an opening screwed for pipe-connection, as described, and illustrated by drawings. (2.) In a combined automatic isolating and communicating compressed-air valve, the combination of a hollow stem with valve head, within a cylinder, a piston and packing-ring fastened to said stem by washer and check-nuts, a washer on hollow stem beneath the piston, a perforated plate screwed down to its seat by a screwed cover, a solid stem fixed to the perforated plate, and having a tapered end adapted to close the hole in the valve-head, and a spiral spring holding piston in position, as described, and illustrated by drawings.

Copies of drawings may be obtained at the uniform price of 1s. each. In exceptional cases this price may be increased at the discretion of the Office.
