A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section eleven of “The Land Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, with the consent of the owners and lessee of the land mentioned in the First Schedule hereto, and of the Waitaki County Council, being the local authority in whose district the said land is situated, proclaim as a road the land in Awamoko Survey District described in the First Schedule hereto; and also do hereby, with the like consents as aforesaid, proclaim as closed the road described in the Second Schedule hereto, which is not required by reason of the road described in the First Schedule hereto.

Land reserved under “The Scenery Preservation Act, 1908.”

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by “The Scenery Preservation Act, 1908” (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), a Scenery Preservation Board is constituted, and it is enacted that such Board shall, when so directed by the Minister charged for the time being with the administration of the said Act, inspect any lands possessing scenic or historic interest, or on which there are thermal springs, and make inquiries respecting the same, and report to the Governor; and shall from time to time recommend what lands, whether Crown or private, shall be permanently reserved as scenic, thermal, or historic reserves: And whereas the said Board was duly directed to inspect and report on the land described in the Schedule hereunder, and has recommended that the said land should be permanently reserved for scenic purposes, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers contained in the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereunder shall be a scenic reserve under “The Scenery Preservation Act, 1908,” and subject to the provisions thereof.
SCHEDULE.
WHARITE MOUNTAIN.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 300 acres, more or less, being Section 6, Block VII, Gorge Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by Section 2, Block II, Gorge Survey District; towards the north-east by Section 5, Block XV, Pohangina Survey District; towards the south-east by the Hawke’s Bay Land District boundary; and towards the south-west by Section 2, Block VII, Gorge Survey District, by the abutment of a road, and by Section 1, Block VII aforesaid.
Also all that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 378 acres, more or less, being Section 5, Block XV, Pohangina Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Section 2, by the southern end of Number Four Road, again by Section 2, and by Section 2A to the Hawke’s Bay Land District boundary; towards the east generally by the Hawke’s Bay Land District boundary as far as the Wharite Trig. Station; thence towards the south-west by Section 6, Block VII, Gorge Survey District; and towards the west by Section 52, Block II, Gorge Survey District.
As the above areas are more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. 461/7, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.
