TAKE notice that the name of the above-mentioned company has been struck off the Register, and the company has been dissolved.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Inhabitants of the Riccarton Road District, a body corporate incorporated under the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1908,” proposes to take, under the provisions of “The Public Works Act, 1908,” all that parcel of land being part of Rural Section 145, situated in the Christchurch Survey District, in the Provincial District of Canterbury, containing by admeasurement 2 acres and 28 perches, the boundaries of which are as follows: Commencing at a point on Wright’s Road connected with Standard Stone 34A on Lincoln Road as follows—from Standard Stone 34A north-west 320° 47’, 4057·9 links; thence north-east 50° 48’ 45”, 30 links, to the commencing-point; thence north-east 50° 48’ 45”, 1396 links; thence north-west 353° 55’, 819·1 links, to southern side of railway-line; thence south-west 269° 55’ along railway-line, 100·55 links; thence south-east 173° 55’, 775·4 links; thence south-west 230° 48’ 45”, 1347·1 links; thence south-east 167° 19’, 55·85 links; thence north-east 50° 48’ 45”, 30·1 links; thence south-east 140° 47’, 50 links, to the commencing-point; as the same is shown on the plan hereafter mentioned, and therein coloured pink and edged green—for the purposes of a public road. And notice is hereby further given that a plan showing the land required to be taken and the names of the owners and occupiers of such lands so far as they can be ascertained is deposited at the office of the Riccarton Road Board, Clyde Road, Riccarton, where the same lies open for public inspection daily without fee during all reasonable hours. And notice is also given that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land shall, if they have any well-grounded objection to the taking of such lands, or any of them, or to the execution of such work, set forth in writing such objection, and send such writing, within forty days from the date of the first publication of this notice, being the 2nd day of December, 1909, addressed to the Chairman of the Riccarton Road Board at the said office of the Riccarton Road Board.

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the members of the above-named company, duly convened, and held at the registered office of the company, Hereford Street, Christchurch, on the 29th day of November, 1909, the following extraordinary resolution was duly passed: “That it is proved to its satisfaction that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same”; and that at the same meeting a resolution was passed appointing ALFRED HENRY KING, of Christchurch, Valuer-Liquidator, to wind up the same.

NOTICE is hereby given that at a general meeting of the above company, held on Monday, the 15th day of November, 1909, the following resolutions were passed as extraordinary resolutions, viz.:

That it has been proved to the satisfaction of the company that it cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same.

That the company be wound up voluntarily, and that EDMUND ALEXANDER WICKES be appointed Liquidator for the purposes of such winding-up.

NOTICE OF DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hitherto existing between us at Hastings, as Bricklayers and Contractors, under the style of “DUNCAN AND LUTTRELL,” has been dissolved by mutual consent. The business will in future be carried on by Alexander S. Duncan, who will receive all debts due to and will pay all liabilities owing by the late firm.

OTAMATEA COUNTY.
AMENDMENTS TO BY-LAWS.
Special Order.
IN exercise of the powers vested in them by “The Counties Act, 1908,” and “The Public Works Act, 1908,” the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Otamatea do hereby, by special order made by a resolution of the Council passed at a special meeting thereof convened for that purpose on the 13th day of September, 1909, declare and make the following amendments to By-laws No. 1 of the said county, to come into force on the 1st day of December, 1909:

Section 2 of the said By-laws No. 1 is amended by the deletion of all words after “the,” on the sixth line thereof, to and including the word “load,” on the seventh line thereof, and there shall be substituted therefor the words “load carried or transported by such vehicle or machine.”

There shall be added to section 1 of section 2 the following clause:—
“(a.) Where the weight of the load carried by any vehicle or machine does not exceed 8 hundredweight, such vehicle or machine shall be exempt under these by-laws in respect to the width of tires.”

Clause (a) of section 1 of section 2 is amended by substituting “weight of the load” for “net weight,” and “8 hundredweight” for “10 hundredweight,” on the first line thereof.

Clauses (b), (c), (d), of section 1 of section 2 are amended by substituting in each case the words “weight of the load” for “net weight.”

There shall be added to section 2 of section 2 the following clause:—
“(a.) Where the weight of the load carried by any vehicle or machine is less than 12 hundredweight, such vehicle or machine shall be exempt under these by-laws in respect of the width of tires.”

Clauses (a), (b), (c), (d), (e), (f), of section 2 of section 2 are amended by the substitution of “weight of the load” for “net weight.”

Section 3 is amended by the deletion of all words from “weight,” on the fourth line thereof, to and including “thereon,” on the fifth line thereof, and the substitution of “60 hundredweight” for “40 hundredweight.”

Section 4 is deleted from By-law No. 1 in toto, and there shall be substituted as section 4 the following section, viz.:—
“Notwithstanding the provisions of (e) and (f) of subsection (2) of section 2 hereof, no person shall drive over, across, or along, or permit or suffer to be driven over, across, or along, any public road within the county any vehicle containing a greater load than 2 tons (exclusive of the weight of such vehicle), unless with the express consent in writing of the Council first had and obtained.”
