SCHEDULE.
CLASS A.-PASTORAL LANDS, being Lands suitable exclusively
for Pasturage, and not capable of being used with Profit
in Areas of a Carrying-capacity of less than Five
Thousand Sheep.
Runs Nos. 389, 389A, and 415 (grouped): Area, 125,080
acres. Situated in Clintonside, Von, Mavora, Black Hill,
Lincoln, Burwood, Snowdon, and Swinton Survey Districts.
Bounded towards the north by Run No. 431 and the Green-
stone River; towards the east by Runs Nos. 350A, 350, 350B,
324B, and the Oreti River; towards the south by Run
No. 300B; towards the west generally by the Mararoa
River, South and North Mavora Lakes, and by the edge of
the bush.
Run No. 530: Area, 3,550 acres. Situated in Takitimo
Survey District. Bounded towards the north generally by
a road-line, and by Sections Nos. 10 and 13 in the said dis-
trict; towards the north-east generally by a road-line, and
by Sections Nos. 20, 127, and 166 in the said district;
towards the south by a line to Excelsior Peak, and from
thence to Tower Peak; and towards the west by Run
No. 396, and by Section No. 46 in the said district and a
road-line fronting Section No. 21.
Run No. 415B: Area, 4,300 acres. Situated in Takitimo
Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Runs
Nos. 173c and 415A2; towards the north-east by Runs
Nos. 415c and 415D; towards the south by the Wairaki
River; towards the south-west by that river and by Run
No. 166A.

Pastoral Runs in Southland Land District for License by
Public Auction.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned pas-
toral runs will be offered for license by public auction,
at the District Lands Office, Invercargill, at 11 a.m. on Wed-
nesday, the 23rd day of February, 1909, under the provisions
of "The Land Act, 1908."
SCHEDULE.
SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.
Runs 389, 389A, and 415 (grouped): Class I (national en-
dowment); Wallace and Lake Counties; Mavora Station;
area, 125,080 acres; term, nine years. Upset annual rental,
£130.
Run 530: Class I; Wallace County; area, 3,550 acres;
term, eleven years. Upset annual rental, £10.
Run 415B: Class I; Wallace County; area, 4,300 acres;
term, five years. Upset annual rental, £2 10s.
Possession will be given on 1st March, 1911.
The following provisional valuation of improvements is
published for the information of intending purchasers, but
must be taken as approximate only, as the final valuation
has to be made, in accordance with section 244 of "The
Land Act, 1908," at least three months before the expiry of
the present licenses: Runs 389, 389A, and 415 (grouped),
homestead, woolshed, outbuildings, and fencing, £750;
Run 530, fencing, £28 10s.; Run 415B, fencing, £42 10s.
Descriptions of Runs.
Runs 389, 389A, and 415: Situated in the Mavora Valley,
and taking in the high lands north of Lake Mavora. Eleva-
tion runs from 1,600 ft. to 6,590 ft. There is a considerable
area of flat land in the main valley, covered with tussock
and patches of grass, and many of the ridges have fair
slopes and grow tussock. The high lands are entirely
summer country, with snow-tussock. Situated eighteen
miles from Mossburn Railway-station, and access by a good
summer dray-track.
Run 530: Hilly country, with some fair slopes on north
faces. Front half grassed with white and blue tussock;
back portion poorly grassed, rocky and steep. Height
above sea-level, 1,400 ft. to 5,000 ft. Situated about twenty-
eight miles from Mossburn Railway-station.
Run 415B: Very high and broken country, poorly grassed
with a little white, but mostly snow, tussock. All the steep
faces are denuded of vegetation. Height above sea-level,
1,200 ft. to 4,700 ft. Situated about forty miles from
Otautau Railway-station and about eighteen miles from
Nightcaps Railway-station.
