A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section eleven of “The Land Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, with the consent of the owners of the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto, and of the Bay of Islands County Council, being the local authority in whose district the said land is situated, proclaim as a road the land in Russell Survey District described in the Schedule hereto.

Additional Land in the Borough of Westport and Kawatiri Survey District taken for the Westport-Inangahua Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of the Westport-Inangahua Railway to take further land in the Borough of Westport and Kawatiri Survey District, in addition to land previously acquired for the said railway:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by sections twenty-nine and one hundred and eighty-eight of “The Public Works Act, 1908,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes hereinbefore specified.

Certain contributory Local Authorities to have a Vote in Election of Trustees of Separate Institutions under Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act.

PLUNKET, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this second day of December, 1909.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and nine of “The Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1908,” it is provided that where there is any omission in the Act, or where in the opinion of the Governor no provision or no sufficient provision is made, he may from time to time make and prescribe all such regulations and orders, either general or applicable to particular cases only, as he thinks fit, for the purpose of facilitating or more effectively carrying into execution the provisions of the Act: And whereas by section fifty-four, subsection one, of the said Act it is provided that every contributory local authority which contributes to the funds of a separate institution shall have the power thereafter in that section declared of electing trustees of such separate institution: And whereas no provision is made in the said section whereby the local authority of a district having less than eight thousand inhabitants can exercise the right so conferred upon that local authority:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him as aforesaid, and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that, in respect of the election of the Trustees of a separate institution under subsection four of section fifty-four of the said Act, if the district of any local authority referred to in that subsection has less than eight thousand inhabitants, as determined in accordance with that subsection, then that local authority shall have one vote.
