Resuming Land for Scenic Purposes.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and forty-four of “The Land Act, 1908” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor in Council may, by Proclamation, resume possession of any land leased under Part VI of the said Act, or under any corresponding Part of “The Land Act, 1892,” which in his opinion is required for any public purpose:

And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto forms part of land which is held under pastoral license from His Majesty the King under Part VI of “The Land Act, 1892,” dated the twenty-first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and one:

And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required for a public purpose—that is to say, for scenic purposes:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The Land Act, 1908,” and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby proclaim and declare that I hereby resume possession of the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto for the public purpose hereinbefore mentioned, the same being part of the land held under pastoral license as aforesaid.

In the Otago Land District; as the same is delineated on the plan marked as above mentioned, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured as above noted.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies: and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this second day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and nine.

Land proclaimed as a Road in Block IX, Ngatapa Survey District, Hawke’s Bay Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section eleven of “The Land Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, with the consent of the lessee and mortgagee of the Crown land mentioned in the Schedule hereto, and of the Waikohu County Council, being the local authority in whose district the said land is situated, proclaim as a road the land in Ngatapa Survey District described in the Schedule hereto.
