Sitting of the Native Land Court at Hastings.

NOTICE is hereby given that a sitting of the Native Land Court will be held at Hastings on the 18th day of December, 1909, to hear and determine the several matters mentioned in the Schedule hereunder written, in respect of which applications have been received by the Registrar, and all such other matters as may be lawfully brought before it.

Order under Section 39 of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894.”

IN THE NATIVE LAND COURT OF NEW ZEALAND, WELLINGTON DISTRICT.

In the matter of an application by Parete Teira, under section 39 of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894,” to amend succession order to interest of Ngahina Matiu, otherwise Matiu Tamawai, deceased, in the Waikawa No. 2 Block.

WHEREAS the above-mentioned application has been referred to the Native Land Court for inquiry and report: And whereas it has been reported that the succession order of the 18th day of December, 1908, was made in error, and should be varied: Now, therefore, for the purpose of rectifying the said error, and in exercise of the powers in that behalf vested in me by section 39 aforesaid, I hereby order that the order of succession above mentioned is hereby varied by awarding the interest of the said deceased in the above-mentioned block to Manutaupua Pepene and Pipihe Pepene in equal shares.

As witness my hand, this 23rd day of October, 1909.

Order under Section 39 of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894.”

IN THE NATIVE LAND COURT OF NEW ZEALAND, WELLINGTON DISTRICT.

In the matter of an application by Haimona Teki, under section 39 of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894,” to cancel succession order to the personal estate of Mohi Ruatea, otherwise Mohi Ropihā, deceased.

WHEREAS the above-mentioned application has been referred to the Native Land Court for inquiry and report: And whereas it has been reported that the said succession order of the 10th day of August, 1907, was made in error, and should be varied: Now, therefore, for the purpose of rectifying the said error, and in exercise of the powers in that behalf vested in me by section 39 aforesaid, I hereby order that the order of succession above mentioned be hereby varied by substituting the names of Rihipeti Paketoetoe, f., and Turei Haimona, m., 10 years, in equal shares, for those now in the said order, and that Haimona Teki be trustee for Turei Haimona, the above-named minor.

As witness my hand, this 22nd day of October, 1909.

Petition for Incorporation by the Owners of the Taumataomanu No. 2b Block.

IN THE NATIVE LAND COURT OF NEW ZEALAND, GISBORNE DISTRICT.

In the matter of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894,” and its amendments, and of the petition for incorporation by the owners of the Taumataomanu No. 2b Block. At a sitting of the Court held at Port Awanui, before Robert Noble Jones, Esquire, Judge, and Rawiri Karaha, Assessor, on Thursday, the 11th day of November, 1909.

UPON reading the petition for incorporation lodged herein, and upon hearing Harete Wanoa for the petitioners, and the evidence adduced on their behalf, and the Court being satisfied of the consent of the majority of the owners of the said Taumataomanu No. 2b Block, and that such block can be dealt with to the advantage of the owners thereof by being incorporated as hereinafter appearing, it is ordered that the owners of the said block shall be and the same are hereby constituted a body corporate within the meaning of section 122 of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894,” by the name of “The Proprietors of Taumataomanu No. 2b Block,” subject to the powers, liabilities, and incidents conferred or imposed by the said Act or any amendments thereof. The said land contains 618 acres or thereabouts, and is bounded as follows: Towards the north by Oruataika Nos. 1 and 2 Blocks, towards the east by Ngatarewa Block, towards the south by Makorokoro Stream, and towards the west by Tauranga Kautuku Stream.

And it is hereby ordered and directed that a general meeting of the proprietors of the said block shall be held at Te Araroa on Friday, the 17th day of December, 1909, at the hour of 7 o’clock in the evening, for the purpose of nominating a committee to administer the said land and fixing the number of its members.

And it is hereby further ordered that the committee shall have full power to defray the reasonable costs and expenses consequent upon this incorporation or incidental thereto, and that the title to the said land hereby vested in the corporate body above named shall be subject to all existing rights, alienations, encumbrances, and contracts affecting the same or any interest therein.
