STRATFORD COUNTY COUNCIL

Special Order making Special Rate.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” the Stratford County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,200, authorised to be raised by the Stratford County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of defraying the cost of re-forming, culverting, and metalling the Skinner Road from the Cheal Road to the Wingrove Road, and the Wingrove Road from its junction with the Skinner Road for about 70 chains in an easterly direction, the said Stratford County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1½d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Skinner-Wingrove Road Special-rating District, comprising Sections 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, and 12, Block VII; part 32 (northern 40 acres) and part 74 (northern 15 acres), Block VI; and Allotments 1 and 3 of Subdivision 1, Pukengahu Block, the whole area being in the Ngaiere Survey District: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of February in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

The resolution instituting the above special order was passed at a special meeting of the Stratford County Council held on the 20th day of October, 1909, and was confirmed at a meeting of the Council held on the 24th day of November, 1909.

REMUERA ROAD DISTRICT.

NOTICE.

Proposal to raise a Special Loan of £8,500, upon which a Poll was taken on the 18th day of November, 1909.

THE result of the poll of the ratepayers of that portion of the Remuera Road District set forth in the Schedule hereto, taken on the 18th day of November, 1909, on the proposal to raise a special loan of £8,500 for the purpose of constructing a system of drainage for the said portion of the said road district, having been ascertained, I hereby give notice that the number of votes recorded for and against the proposal was as follows: For the proposal, 127 votes; against the proposal, 5 votes.

I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

Schedule.

All that parcel of land in the Remuera Road District, in the County of Eden, commencing at the junction of Brighton and Remuera Roads. Bounded generally on the south-west by the Remuera Road, on the west and north-west generally by the boundary-lines of the Boroughs of Newmarket and Parnell, and on the north and north-east by Ayr Street and Beach Road to its intersection by Arney Road, thence generally on the north-east, east, and south-east by Arney Road to its intersection of Brighton Road, and thence by Brighton Road to the commencing-point; excepting, however, out of the said area Allotment 24 of Section 4 of the Suburbs of Auckland.


Results of Polls for Proposed Loans.

THE following notices, received from the Chairman of the Hunter ville Town Board, are published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” in substitution for those already gazetted on page 2192 of the New Zealand Gazette, 1909.

In the matter of “The Town Boards Act, 1908,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” and the Acts amending the same.

WHEREAS on or about the 6th day of August, 1909, the Hunter ville Town Board submitted to the ratepayers of the Hunter ville Town District a proposal whereby it was proposed that the said Board raise a special loan of £1,500 for the purpose of completing and extending works for the supply of water to the Hunter ville Town District, and works of drainage and sewerage in the said town district, and should make an annually recurring rate of ⅞d. in the pound sterling on the capital value of all rateable property in the Hunter ville Town District as a security for the interest and sinking fund (the sinking fund to be £1 per centum per annum) in connection with such loan, and that the whole of such loan should be repayable at the expiration of twenty-one years from the raising of the loan, and to pay out of the loan the cost of raising the same and the first year’s interest of such loan: And whereas all the proceedings required by sections from 7 to 12 (inclusive) of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” have been duly had and taken: And whereas a poll of the ratepayers of the Hunter ville Town District entitled to vote on the said proposal was duly taken on the above proposal on the 6th day of August, 1909:

Now, therefore, I, William Meldrum, Chairman of the Hunter ville Town Board, do hereby, pursuant to the provisions of section 13 of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908,” give notice that at the said poll on the said proposal held on the 6th day of August, 1909, the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows: For the proposal, 106; against the proposal, 14; informal, nil.

I therefore hereby declare the above proposal duly carried.
