Opening Lands in Nelson Land District for Sale or Selection.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The Land Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided in section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Wednesday, the twelfth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and ten; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1908.”

About 240 acres open country, covered with fern, tutu, and native grass; remainder covered with green bush, chiefly red and brown birch. All hills from 900 ft. to 1,700 ft. above sea-level, with the exception of a few acres of flat along Brewerton Creek. Access by the main coach-road, Nelson to Westport. Seven miles and a half from Kohatu Railway-station, and thence by a 6 ft. track along the Brewerton Creek for a distance of one mile and a quarter.

Altitude, from 1,000 ft. to 1,700 ft. above sea-level. All hills. About 12 acres light birch bush, remainder covered with fern, manuka, scrub, tutu, and some native grass. Well watered country. Inferior soil, on sandstone gravels. Accessible by Oliver’s Road, and the main Belgrove—Motupiko Road. Distant about seven miles from Belgrove Railway-station.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-ninth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and nine.

Opening Land in Southland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The Land Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Wednesday, the twenty-third day of February, one thousand nine hundred and ten, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to section one hundred and thirty-five of the said Act, as it contains, or is supposed to contain, metal, mineral, or valuable stone.
