Changing the Purpose of a Portion of a Reserve in the Canterbury Land District.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto forms part of a reserve heretofore duly set apart for public purposes, being a reserve within Class II of the Second Schedule of “The Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908,” and such land has not been vested in trust in any society, body corporate, or trustees:

And whereas it is expedient that such land shall be appropriated for an addition to a public recreation-ground, being a reserve within Class III of the aforesaid Act:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the eleventh section of “The Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908,” do by this notification declare that the said land shall, from and after the second day of December, one thousand nine hundred and nine, be appropriated for an addition to a public recreation-ground under Class III of “The Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908”; and I do hereby direct that this notification shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 acres 2 roods 9 perches, more or less, being Reserve 3802 (in red), part of Section No. 24, Hanmer Plains Reserve, situated in Block II, Lyndon Survey District, commencing at the north-west corner of said Section No. 24, and bounded as follows: Towards the north by the northern boundary of Section No. 24, 424·9 links; towards the east by a line bearing 173° 4′, 373·3 links; towards the south-east by a line bearing 218° 33′, 618·2 links; towards the west by a road-line, 815·1 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less, as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 53102/28, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered pink.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-sixth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and nine.

Lands temporarily reserved for Gravel Purposes in the Westland Land District.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first section of “The Land Act, 1908,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the lands in the Westland Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, for gravel purposes.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Westland Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 roods, more or less, being Reserve No. 1265 (formerly portion of Section No. 2263), situated in Block XIII, Wanganui Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by La Fontaine Road, 250 links; towards the south-east by a public road, 202·8 links; and towards the south-west and north-west by Section No. 2263, Block XIII, Wanganui Survey District, 250 and 202·8 links respectively: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 3326/7A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured pink.

All that area in the Westland Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 roods, more or less, being Reserve No. 1266 (formerly portion of Section No. 2265), situated in Block XIII, Wanganui Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by Section No. 2264, Block XIII, Wanganui Survey District, 173 links; towards the north-east by La Fontaine Road, 288·6 links; and towards the south-east and south-west by Section No. 2265 of said Block XIII, 173 and 288·6 links respectively: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 3326/7B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured pink.

All that area in the Westland Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 roods, more or less, being Reserve No. 1264 (formerly portion of Section No. 2324), situated in Block XIII, Wanganui Survey District. Commencing at a point on the north-eastern side of La Fontaine Road, distant 1610·2 links from its intersection with the north-west boundary of Section No. 2263, Block XIII, Wanganui Survey District. Bounded towards the south-east by a right line bearing 71° 21′, 200 links; towards the north-east by a right line bearing 341° 21′, 250 links; towards the north-west by a right line bearing 251° 21′, 200 links, to La Fontaine Road, and by the said road to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages and bearings more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 3326/7C, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured pink.

Land temporarily reserved for a Site for a Public School in the Southland Land District.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first section of “The Land Act, 1908,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

ALL that area in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 14 acres and 13 perches, more or less, being Section No. 83, Block I, Paterson Survey District. Bounded towards the north generally by a public road; towards the the north-east by Section No. 49, Block I, Paterson Survey District; towards the south-east by a public road along the shore of Horseshoe Bay; towards the south by Section No. 44 of said Block I; and towards the west by a public road: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 5377/1, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-sixth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and nine.
