Light soil of fair quality on dry land, peat in swamp, on sandstone formation; well watered. Situated about five miles from Glen Murray by good cart-road.

Opening Land in Auckland Land District for Sale or Selection.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The Land Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided in section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Monday, the twenty-first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and eight; and also that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the price at which the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1908.”

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—RAGLAN COUNTY.—MARAMARUA SURVEY DISTRICT.

Second-class Land.

Altitude, from 350 ft. to 400 ft. above sea-level. About 10 acres flat, 40 acres undulating, balance broken; all covered with fern and manuka; clay soil of inferior quality, on slate formation; well watered by stream. Situated about seven miles from Glen Murray Post-office by formed road. Access also from Churchill, about two miles, by unformed track.

Undulating to broken land, covered with mixed forest, comprising some rimu, kauri rickers, manuka, towai, birch, taraire, and rata, with undergrowth of kiekie and shrubs; soil loam and clay, from fair to inferior in quality, on sandstone formation; watered by small watercourses. Situated about six miles from Waipu Wharf by dray-road:

These sections comprise manuka scrub and a little flax, mostly light soil mixed with pumice. Situated adjacent to Hangaroa Village, about thirty miles south-west of Gisborne.
