issued thereunder, and generally to the interests created,
and the persons whose rights, liabilities, or interests are
thereby affected; and the mention of any particular pro-
vision of the said Act shall not be deemed to exclude any
other provision of the said Act applicable to the particular
case.

Vesting Control of Mangamuka Ferry across the Mangamuka
River in the Hokianga County Council, and apportioning
the Cost of Maintenance.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and twenty of
"The Public Works Act, 1908" (hereinafter termed
"the said Act"), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor
may, upon the terms and conditions in the said section
mentioned, by Warrant under his hand publicly notified and
gazetted, direct that any ferry already established, or which
may hereafter be established, over or across any river or arm
of the sea respectively shall, from and after a date to be fixed
in such Warrant, be under the exclusive care, control, and
management of such local authority as shall be mentioned
in that behalf in such Warrant; and may by such Warrant
as aforesaid fix and determine whether all or any, and if so
what part, of the cost, whether theretofore incurred or
thereafter to be incurred, of maintaining, repairing, im-
proving, or reconstructing any such ferry is to be provided
and paid by the local authority or local authorities, and, if
so, by what local authority or authorities; and may by any
such Warrant as aforesaid direct how, when, and to whom
any such payment is to be made:

And whereas it is expedient to make provision under the
said Act for the purposes and in the manner hereinafter set
forth:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Go-
vernor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and
in exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the
said Act, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise
enabling me in this behalf, do hereby direct that the said
ferry mentioned in the Schedule hereto, and known as the
Mangamuka Ferry over the Mangamuka River, shall, from
and after the date of this Warrant, be under the exclusive
care and control and management of the Hokianga County
Council; and, in further pursuance of the aforesaid powers
and authorities, I do hereby fix and determine that the cost
of maintaining, repairing, improving, or reconstructing the
said ferry shall be borne by the Hokianga County Council.

SCHEDULE.

THAT ferry over the Mangamuka River, situated in the
County of Hokianga, between the south-western portion of
Section No. 1, Te Tio, Block VI, Mangamuka Survey Dis-
trict, and a point on the northern portion of Block 6460D,
being part of Native Block "Pikiparia," and connecting the
Kohukohu to Mangamuka Road and the Te Tio to Uma-
whero Road; as the site of the said ferry is more particularly
delineated on plan marked R. 4489, deposited in the office
of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, and shown
thereon in red colour.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-third day of October, one thousand
nine hundred and eight.

Exchanging Portion of a Reserve for other Land.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS by notice published on page 122 of the
New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-seventh day
of January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-one,
Section 210, Suburbs of Gisborne, containing eight acres
and sixteen perches, was set aside as a reserve for a sheep
and cattle quarantine-ground, being one of the purposes
enumerated in Class II of the Second Schedule to "The
Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908" (hereinafter re-
ferred to as "the said Act"): And whereas section six of
the said Act authorises the Governor to exchange any of the
land comprised in such reserve for other land of equal value,
to be dedicated to one or more of the purposes comprised in
the said Class II: And whereas, in the opinion of the
Governor, it is expedient to exchange a portion of such re-
serve for other land of equal value described in the second
column of the Schedule hereto, to be dedicated as herein-
after provided:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the

powers and authorities vested in him by section six of the
said Act and of section one hundred and forty-two of "The
Land Act, 1908," doth hereby declare that the land de-
scribed in the first column of the Schedule hereto (being
portion of the hereinbefore-mentioned reserve) is hereby ex-
changed for the Crown land described in the second column
of the Schedule hereto, which, in the opinion of the
Governor, is of equal value, and that the land described in
the said first column becomes and is Crown land freed from
all previous reservation and subject to the provisions of
"The Land Act, 1908," and that the land described in the
said second column is hereby reserved for travelling stock
and for the use of the Department of Agriculture, being
purposes comprised in the said Class II.

All that area in the Hawke's Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more or less, being Lot 1 of Section 210, Suburbs of Gisborne. Bounded towards the north-east by Childer's Road, 200 links; towards the south-east by other part of the said Section 210, 498.26 links; towards the south-west by other part of the said Section 210, 201.4 links; and towards the north-west by Section 209, 498.26 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 58628/11. deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, Wellington, and thereon edged red. All that area in the Hawke's Bay Land District, containing 19 acres and 23 perches, being Block IV, Township of Buckley. Bounded towards the north by Forster Street, 1356 links; towards the east by Ferneaux Street, 1400.2 links; towards the south by Banks Street, 1379 links; and towards the west by Discovery Street, 1400 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 5215/4, deposited in the Head Office of the Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Also all that area in the said land district, containing 20 acres 2 roods, more or less, being Section 1, Block XII, Mata Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by the Akuaku West No. 4 Block, 1500 links; towards the south-east by a road reserve 1 chain in width along the sea-coast; towards the south-west by the Ohineaki No. 2 Block, 1322.6 links; and towards the north-west by the said Ohineaki No. 2 Block, 1400 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 58628/21, deposited in the Head Office of the Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this sixteenth day of October, one thousand nine
hundred and eight.

Amending the Descriptions of Reserves in the Auckland
Land District.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-fifth
section of "The Land Act, 1908," it is enacted that
where there has been any error of description made in any
notification of any intended reserve, or where there appears
a great discrepancy in the area of any intended reserve after
the same shall have been surveyed, the Governor may
cancel any notification that may have been made in
respect of such reserve, and issue fresh notification in
respect thereof, with amended particulars and description:

And whereas errors were made in the descriptions of
Sections Nos. 6 and 9, Block VI, Rotorua Survey District,
and Section No. 1a, Block X, Waihi South Survey District,
Auckland Land District, in the Warrant of the thirtieth
day of October, one thousand nine hundred and seven, and
the Proclamation of the sixth day of February, one thousand
nine hundred and eight, and published in the New Zealand
Gazette
No. 94, of the thirty-first day of October, one thou-
sand nine hundred and seven, and No. 11, of the thirteenth
day of February, one thousand nine hundred and eight, re-
spectively, reserving the lands for endowments for primary
education, the same having been described as Sections
Nos. 6 and 9, Block VI, Rotorua Survey District, and Sec-
tion No. 1, Block X, Waihi South Survey District, respec-
tively; and it is expedient to cancel the said notifications in
