LAND TRANSFER ACT NOTICES.

NOTICE is hereby given that the parcel of land hereinafter described will be brought under the provisions of “The Land Transfer Act, 1885,” and its amendments, unless caveat be lodged forbidding the same on or before the 9th day of November, 1908.

  1. Applicant, THE NAPIER BREWERY COMPANY (LIMITED).—1 rood 27/100 perch, Town Section 144, East Hastings, Heretaunga Block. In occupation of Bernard Charles McCormick.

EVIDENCE having been furnished of the loss of Memo. of Lease No. 4508, affecting Section 253 of the Borough of Geraldine, part of the land in certificate of title, Vol. 121, folio 9, whereof WALTER WILLIAM WILLIAMSON, of Geraldine, Tobacconist, is the registered lessee, and application having been made to me to register a certain dealing affecting the said memo. of lease, I hereby give notice that I will register such dealing, dispensing with the production of the said lease, at the expiration of fourteen days from the date of the Gazette containing this notice.

PRIVATE ADVERTISEMENTS.

In the matter of “The Public Works Act, 1905,” and of the taking under the said Act by the Gisborne Borough Council of certain land within the Borough of Gisborne for the purpose of widening a road.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Gisborne, for and on behalf of the Gisborne Borough Council, under the provisions of “The Public Works Act, 1905,” intend by Proclamation to take the following lands, all situated in the Borough of Gisborne, namely:—

Part of Lots Numbers 5 and 8 and 10 of Section No. 135A of the Town of Gisborne, and part of Lots Numbers 10, 12, 14, and 16 of Section 136A of the Town of Gisborne, as shown on the plan hereinafter mentioned, coloured blue, and containing by admeasurement in the aggregate two roods fourteen perches and thirty-two-hundredths of a perch (2 roods 14·32 perches), more or less.

A plan of the said land is deposited in the Borough Council Office, Read’s Quay, Gisborne, where the same may be inspected at all reasonable hours.

The work proposed to be executed is the widening of Russell Street to a width of 66 ft.

All persons having any objections to the execution of such works or of the taking of such lands are hereby required to send such objections in writing to the Borough Council, at Gisborne, on or before the 20th day of November, 1908.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us, the undersigned, JAMES THOMAS GEORGE EDWARDS and WILLIAM ALFRED BOULTON, carrying on business as Hotelkeepers at Wellington in connection with the Hotel Windsor, Willis Street, under the style of “Edwards and Boulton,” has been dissolved by mutual consent as from this date. The said James Thomas George Edwards will pay and discharge all debts and liabilities, and receive all moneys payable to the said late firm.

THE NATIONAL FIRE AND MARINE INSURANCE COMPANY OF NEW ZEALAND.

SPECIAL RESOLUTIONS, PASSED 3RD SEPTEMBER, 1908; CONFIRMED 1ST OCTOBER, 1908.

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the above company, duly convened, and held at the Head Office of the company, Rattray Street, Dunedin, on Thursday, the 3rd day of September, 1908, the subjoined special resolutions were duly passed; and at a subsequent extraordinary general meeting of the said company, also duly convened, and held at the same place on the 1st day of October, 1908, the subjoined special resolutions were duly confirmed:—

  1. That it is desirable to reconstruct the company, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily; and that H. E. WILLIAMS, of Dunedin, be and is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purposes of such winding-up.

  2. That the said Liquidator be and is hereby authorised to consent to the registration of a new company, to be named “The National Insurance Company of New Zealand (Limited),” with a memorandum and articles of association, which have already been prepared with the privity and approval of the directors of this company.

  3. That the draft agreement submitted to this meeting, and expressed to be made between this company and its Liquidator of the one part, and the National Insurance Company of New Zealand (Limited) of the other part, be and the same is hereby approved; and that the said Liquidator be and is hereby authorised, pursuant to section 259 of “The Companies Act, 1903,” to enter into an agreement with such new company (when incorporated) in the terms of the said draft, and to carry the same into effect, with such (if any) modifications as may be deemed expedient.
