a special rate of 2¾d. in the pound upon the rateable value of
all rateable property within Napier South aforesaid, con-
taining some 300 acres, more or less, and more particularly
described in the Schedule to "The Napier Harbour Board
Amendment and Endowment Improvement Act, 1899." And
the said Council further resolves that the said special rate
shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the
said loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 31st day of
January and the 31st day of July in every year during the
currency thereof, being a period of forty-one years, or until
the loan is fully paid off. And, further, that the preliminary
expenses incurred or to be incurred in connection with the
works above mentioned, and the first year's interest at the
statutory rate of £3½ per cent. per annum, shall be paid out of
the said loan-moneys.
Passed at a special meeting of the Hawke's Bay County
Council held on the 8th day of June, 1908, and confirmed at
a special meeting held on the 13th day of July, 1908.
The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and
Inhabitants of the County of Hawke's Bay was hereunto
affixed by order of the said Council, this 13th day of July,

THE following special order, made by the Inangahua
County Council, is published in accordance with the
provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908."

INANGAHUA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order making Special Rate.
In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901," and
"The Public Health Act, 1900," the Inangahua County
Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of
providing interest and other charges on a loan of £1,500,
authorised to be raised by the Inangahua County Council,
under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of renewing
the water-race in connection with the water-supply of the
Town of Reefton and excavating an additional reservoir, the
said Inangahua County Council hereby makes and levies a
special rate of ½d. in the pound upon the capital value of all
the rateable property in the Reefton Irrigation and Drainage
District, comprising the whole of the Town of Reefton, as
defined by special order of the Inangahua County Council
made on the 31st day of October, 1900; and that such rate
shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such
loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 15th day of March
and the 15th day of September in each and every year during
the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or
until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution making
special order was passed by the Inangahua County Council at
a special meeting held on the 27th day of August, 1908, and
confirmed at a special meeting of the said Council held on the
24th day of September, 1908.

Akaroa County Council, is published in accordance
with the provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908."

AKAROA COUNTY COUNCIL.
AT a special meeting held at the County Council Offices,
Duvauchelle, on the 25th day of July, 1908, the following
special order, making a special rate, was made by the
Akaroa County Council:—
Proposed by Mr. Pettigrew, seconded by Mr. Murray,—
That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it
in that behalf by "The Counties Act, 1886," and its amend-
ments, the Akaroa County Council hereby resolves as fol-
lows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and
other charges on a loan of £2,000, authorised to be raised by
the Akaroa County Council, under the provisions of "The
Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901," for the purpose of erecting
a suitable wharf on the foreshore of the Akaroa Harbour on
the Duvauchelle's side of the "Gap" on the Onawe Penin-
sula, erecting a goods-shed and conveniences adjacent to
such wharf, and constructing a suitable road to give proper
access to the said wharf and shed both on the Duvauchelle's
and Barry's Bay sides of the Onawe Peninsula, the said
Akaroa County Council hereby makes and levies a special
rate of ¼d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation
of all rateable property of the Onawe Wharf Rating
District, comprising all the lands contained within the
following boundaries—commencing on the 1-chain reserve
above high-water mark at the south-east corner of Rural
Section 2114; thence north-easterly by the south-east
boundary of said section to the old Okain's Road; thence
north-easterly by that road to its junction with the new
Okain's Road at the north-east corner of Rural Sec-
tion 9481; thence following the new Okain's Road to its
junction with the Summit Road; thence in a generally
westerly direction, following the boundary-lines dividing
the Akaroa and Wainui Road District on the one side,
and the Okain's Bay and Pigeon Bay Road Districts
on the other side, to the Purau Track on the old Pigeon Bay
Saddle; thence in a westerly direction, following the Summit
Road to its junction with the main Little River coach-road
at the north-west corner of Rural Section 14417; thence
southward by the boundary-line dividing the Akaroa and
Wainui Road District and the Little River Road District
to the north-west corner of Rural Section 21421; thence
southerly by the western boundary of that section to the road
known as Wilson's Road; thence southerly by that road to
the south-west corner of Rural Section 21421; thence north-
easterly by the south boundary of that section to Rural Sec-
tion 20212; thence southerly by the western boundary of
that section to its south-west corner; thence easterly by the
southern boundary of Rural Sections 20212, 12138, and 9990
to the south-east corner of the last-named section; thence
northerly by the eastern boundary of Rural Section 9990 to
Rural Section 10088; thence easterly by the southern
boundary of Rural Section 10088 to the north-west corner of
Rural Section 7418; thence southerly by the western bound-
ary of that section to its south-west corner; thence easterly
along the southern boundary of Rural Section 7418 to its
south-east corner; thence northerly by its eastern boundary
to the southern boundary of Rural Section 5216; thence
easterly by that boundary to the south-east corner of
Rural Section 5216; thence northerly to the south-west
corner of Rural Section 5215; thence easterly by the
southern boundary of that section to the old French Farm
Road; thence northerly by that road to the south-west corner
of Rural Section 4561; thence easterly by the southern
boundary of that section to the 1-chain reserve above high-
water mark; and thence by that reserve and including Rural
Sections 728 and 26442, on the Onawe Peninsula, to the
starting-point: and that such special rate shall be an annual-
recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be
payable half-yearly on the 30th day of September and the
31st day of March in each and every year during the currency
of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the
loan is fully paid off.—Carried unanimously.
I certify that this is the special order making rate in Onawe
Special-rating District for loan of £2,000.
