ALL that piece or parcel of land, situate in the Nukumaru Survey District, containing 762 acres 1 rood 19·7 perches, more or less, known as Kai Iwi 5c No. 1, being the whole of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 150, folio 204, of the Register-book of the Wellington District.

"The Public Service Classification and Superannuation Act, 1908."—Extension of Time for the Employment of Extra Assistants in the Stamp and Land and Deeds Registry Departments.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-second day of September, 1908.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by subsection two of section sixteen of “The Public Service Classification and Superannuation Act, 1908” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is provided that the Governor may by Order in Council, in any case in which he considers that the public interest so requires, authorise the temporary employment of any person or any class of persons for a longer period than is permitted by subsection one of section sixteen of the said Act:
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient that, in respect of the hereinafter-mentioned classes of persons employed in the Stamp and Land and Deeds Registry Departments, the period of temporary employment should be extended from six months to three years:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on him by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorise the temporary employment in the Stamp and Land and Deeds Registry Departments of the classes of persons mentioned in the Schedule hereto for three years in lieu of six months.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-second day of September, 1908.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the eleventh day of June, one thousand nine hundred and six, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the fourteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and six, regulations were made for the conduct of officers of the Post and Telegraph Department in the Civil Service of the Dominion of New Zealand, including regulations prescribing holidays to be observed in such Department:
And whereas it is desirable to amend such regulations in the manner hereinafter set forth:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by “The Post and Telegraph Act, 1908,” and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke regulation one hundred and thirty in the Schedule to the aforesaid Order in Council prescribing holidays as aforesaid, and in lieu thereof doth hereby make the regulation set forth in the Schedule hereto, and doth order and declare that such substitute regulation shall be read as part of the hereinbefore-mentioned regulations, and have effect on and after the twenty-sixth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and eight.
SCHEDULE.
- The following days in each year shall be observed as holidays:—
(1.) New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Dominion Day, His Majesty’s Birthday, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day.
(2.) Whenever any such day shall fall upon a Sunday the day following shall be substituted for it.
Good Friday and Christmas Day are regarded as Sundays for the purposes of departmental attendance.

Validating Voting-paper used in Proceedings taken by the Heathcote Road Board to raise £825 under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-second day of September, 1908.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the Heathcote Road Board lately proposed to raise a loan of eight hundred and twenty-five pounds, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and its amendments, from the Government of New Zealand for the payment of the Heathcote Road Board’s proportion of the cost of the construction of the bridge over the River Heathcote at Ferrymead, in the Valley Ward of the Heathcote Road District: And whereas at a poll of the ratepayers of the said Valley Ward held on the nineteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and eight, the proposal to raise such loan was sanctioned, but the voting-paper used at such election was not in the form number one prescribed in the Schedule to “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1903”: And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been misled, and it is expedient to validate the proceedings so taken by the said Road Board:
