NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of section 396 of
“The Land Act, 1908,” that, with the consent of the
Minister of Lands, the fee-simple of the undermentioned land
on and after Wednesday, the 11th day of November, 1908,
under section 138 of “The Land Act, 1908.”

NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of section 240 of
“The Land Act, 1892,” that the undermentioned
land will be disposed of, under section 114 of “The Land
Act, 1892,” at the Holders of Renewable Leases, on and after
Wednesday, the 21st day of October, 1908.

Workers’ Dwellings at Sydenham, Christchurch, with Right to acquire or Freehold.

NOTICE is hereby given that applications for the undermentioned workers’ dwellings will be received at the District
Lands Office, Christchurch, up to noon on Friday, the 2nd day of October, 1908. Dwellings are let to suitable applicants
on the instalment-purchase system for a period of fifty years, with the option of acquiring the freehold.
No deposit is required with any application, but every successful applicant shall before being admitted to possession pay
one month’s rent plus insurance premium for the first year. The payment for the insurance premium shall be made annually,
with the permission of the Land Board, pay the sum of £1 as part of the first month’s rent, and undertake to complete the
purchase of the dwelling upon such terms and conditions as are set forth in the lease.
Applications are required to appear before the Land Board, at the District Lands Office, Christchurch, on Thursday,
the 8th day of October, 1908, at 7.30 p.m. Possession will be given on Saturday, the 10th day of October, 1908, at 2 p.m.
Successful applicants shall appear before the Land Board, at the District Lands Office, Christchurch, on Thursday, the 8th day of October, 1908, at 7.30 p.m. Possession will be given immediately upon signing the lease and paying the first month’s rent and insurance premium.
Applicants are requested to appear before the Land Board, at the District Lands Office, Christchurch, on Friday, the 9th day of October, 1908, at 7.30 p.m. Possession will be given immediately
upon signing the lease.
Copies of the regulations may be obtained on application and designs inspected at the District Lands Office,
Christchurch.
A Clerk of the Department will be in attendance to show intending applicants over the dwellings on Thursday and
Saturday afternoons from 2 to 5 p.m.

The first year’s fire-insurance premium is payable immediately the dwelling is allotted.
The value given includes the cost of buildings and value of land only.
The modes for acquiring the freehold are as follows:
Mode A.—By payments of rent for a period of the value of the dwelling (including the land) at any time not less than
the balance over twenty-five years, or the balance over thirty-two years, or the balance over forty-one years from the date of the lease.
Mode B.—By monthly payments over a period of twenty-five years, at the rate of 5 per cent. per annum on the
capital value.
Mode B.—By monthly payments over a period of thirty-two years, at the rate of 5 per cent. per annum on the
capital value.
(b) By monthly payments over a period of forty-one years, at the rate of 5 per cent. per annum on the
capital value.
Mode C.—By monthly payments of rent at the rate of 5 per cent. per annum on the capital value of the dwelling,
including the land, for a period of twenty-five years, in conjunction with Government Insurance Commissioner
for the amount of the capital value of the dwelling.
