providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £50,
authorised to be raised by the Waipipi Road Board, under
the provisions of “ The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for
completing the metalling of Kent and Kirk Streets, Waiuku
Village, Waiuku-Karioitaha Road, and Lamb Hill Road,
the said Waipipi Road Board hereby makes and levies
a special rate of ⅛d. in the pound upon the capital value
of the rateable property of No. 2 Subdivision, Waipipi
Road District ; and that such special rate shall be an annual-
recurring rate during the currency of the loan, being a period
of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above special order was made in
accordance with the provisions of the “ The Road Boards
Act, 1882,” and amendments thereto.

CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL.

Special Order making Special Rate.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “ The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows : That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £17,000, authorised to be raised by the Christchurch City Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of extending and altering the city electrical plant, including the cost of changing over to the three-wire system, the provision of two additional generating units, one balancer set, extra panels and alterations to switchboard, alterations to connections, extension of distributors, 250 new Watt meters, foundations and new wing to building, and other plant and materials necessary for and incidental to the aforesaid works, the said Christchurch City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅛d. in the pound upon the rateable value (being the unimproved value) of all rateable property comprised within the boundaries of the City of Christchurch as constituted and described by Proclamation of His Excellency the Governor published in the Supplement to the New Zealand Gazette of Thursday, the 26th day of March, 1903, dated the 1st day of April, 1903, pages 883 and 884, and the boundaries as described in the Schedule thereto, as amended by the Order in Council altering the boundaries of the City of Christchurch published in the New Zealand Gazette dated the 4th day of April, 1907, page 1136 ; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed at a special meeting of the Christchurch City Council held on the 3rd day of August, 1908, and was duly confirmed at an ordinary meeting of the Council held on the 31st day of August, 1908.

In the matter of “ The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.”

I HEREBY give notice that on the 27th day of August, 1908, a proposal was submitted by the Hunter ville Town Board to

the ratepayers of the Hunter ville Town District for raising a special loan of £5,000 for the purposes of (a) works for the supply of water to the Hunter ville Town District ; (b) works of drainage and sewerage in the said town district ; and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows : For the proposal, 102 ; against, 33; informal, 4.

I therefore declare the said proposal duly carried.

GULF ST. VINCENT.—ENTRANCE TO PORT ADELAIDE RIVER.

Masters of vessels, pilots, and others are hereby informed that the channel at No. 0 lead has been marked by four buoys : two on the starboard hand inward, painted red, and two on the port hand, painted black.

One of the black buoys is placed on the north bank inside No. 0 green light beacon, with a red one on the opposite side of the channel about 800 ft. outside of the occulting-light buoy, the centre of the old Port Lighthouse structure bearing N. 74° E. The other two buoys are placed about 800 ft. further to seaward on the edge of either side of the outer cutting.

This affects Admiralty Charts Nos. 1750 and 2859 A and B.
