MINING NOTICES.

UNDER “THE MINING ACT, 1905.”

APPLICATION FOR LICENSE FOR A WATER-RACE (WITHOUT RIGHT TO DIVERT WATER).

To the Warden of the Otago Mining District, at Roxburgh.

PURSUANT to “The Mining Act, 1905,” the undersigned, John Ewing, of Roxburgh, Hydraulic Mining Engineer, hereby applies for a license for a water-race (without right to divert water) as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Date and number of miner’s right: 25th July, 1908; No. 68552.

Address for service: Care of Hutton and McKean, Solicitors, Clyde.

Dated at Clyde, this 1st day of August, 1908.

Schedule.

Locality of the race and of its starting and terminal points: Commencing in Teviot River about 220 yards above the head of water-race known as the United Hercules Water-race, following line of said United Hercules Water-race to its junction with Lake Onslow Road, thence through freehold land and small grazing-run now occupied by J. A. Pannett, thence through mining reserve to a point on the east bank of Molyneux about one mile and a half below Dumbarton Rock. For the purposes of construction, maintenance, and improvement of, and deposit of soil from, the race the applicant desires to occupy a strip of land 10 ft. wide on each side of the race.

Length and intended course of race: Eight miles; southerly.

Points of intake: No right to divert water is applied for.

Estimated time and cost of construction: Eighteen months; £10,000.

Mean depth and breadth: Iron piping, 3 ft. diameter; open race, 3 ft. x 7 ft.

Number of heads to be diverted: Carrying-capacity, sixty-five heads.

Purpose for which water is to be used: Hydraulic sluicing and elevation on Molyneaux Flat, both sides river between Roxburgh and Ettrick.

Proposed term of license: Forty-two years.

In the matter of “The Companies Act, 1908”; and in the matter of the MOLYNEUX KOHINOOR DREDGING COMPANY (LIMITED).

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the members of the above-named company held at Dunedin on Wednesday, the 26th day of August, 1908, the following resolutions were passed:—

  1. That the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and that the company be wound up accordingly under “The Companies Act, 1908.”

  2. That Mr. HARRY SHRIMPTON be appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up at a fee of twenty-five pounds (£25).
