Station; then by said line to Totoro Trig. Station; then by a line drawn from Totoro Trig. Station to Te Kawau Station to a point thereon, 40 chains distant from the nearest point of and at right angles to the right bank of the Mokau River; then by a line parallel to and distant 40 chains from the said right bank till it strikes the boundary of the river district, as described in “The Mokau River Trust Act, 1903,” aforesaid; then by the said river district to the point of commencement.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by the two-hundred-and-third section of “The Land Act, 1908,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the allotments of Crown land described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same are hereby set apart and declared open for lease as a village settlement.

Change of Name of Locality, “Wainono” to “Norton.”

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS a petition has been presented by settlers in the locality known as “Wainono,” in the County of Waimate, praying that the name of such locality be changed to “Norton”: And whereas the Council of the County of Waimate has, by resolution adopted at an ordinary meeting thereof, consented to the name of “Norton” being substituted for the existing name of “Wainono”:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by “The Designation of Districts Act, 1894,” and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the name of the locality now known as “Wainono,” in the County of Waimate, shall be and the same is hereby altered to “Norton,” and do assign the last-mentioned name to such locality accordingly; and also do hereby proclaim and declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and nine, not being earlier than six months after the first publication thereof in the Gazette.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this fourth day of August, 1908.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required for a certain public work, to wit, a Native school:
And whereas the Native owners have agreed to make a free gift of the said land to His Majesty the King, and it has been made to appear that such agreement is sufficient for the purposes intended to be effected thereby:
And whereas by a partition order made by the Native Land Court, bearing date the ninth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and six, certain aboriginal Natives are declared to be the owners of the Moetangi B2 No. 2 Block, within which the said land is situated:
And whereas, as required by “The Public Works Acts Compilation Act, 1905,” a map has been prepared showing accurately the position and extent of the said land, and such map is hereto attached:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred by “The Public Works Acts Compilation Act, 1905,” and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the land shown upon the said map, and described in the Schedule hereto, is hereby taken for the purposes of the said Native school, and shall vest in His Majesty the King, as from the twenty-first day of September, one thousand nine hundred and eight.
