Notice of Request to amend Specification.

Patent Office,
Wellington, 19th August, 1908.

A REQUEST for leave to amend the specification relating to the undermentioned application for Letters Patent has been received, and is open to public inspection at this office. Any person may at any time within one month from the date of this Gazette give me notice in writing of opposition to the amendments. Such notice must set forth the particular grounds of objection and be in duplicate. A fee of 10s. is payable thereon.

No. 23453.—C. Suttie and M. H. Wynyard.—Means of operating mechanical catcher for flax (advertised in Supplement to New Zealand Gazette, No. 61, of the 6th August, 1908).

The nature of the proposed amendment is as follows:—
To insert on page 7, after the paragraph ending “the wheel 19 and 40,” the following paragraph:—
“The initiating movement of the first gearing, instead of being taken off the feed-roller, can be taken in other ways, as, for instance, off a tensioned flap in the mouthpiece of the stripper, or a toothed wheel placed in such mouthpiece and raised, pressed, or revolved by the movement of feeding the flax into the stripper through the mouthpiece.”

In applying for the amendment the applicants state that “the paragraph referred to above was, with the exception of the words ‘tensioned’ and ‘pressed,’ part of the provisional specification, and was omitted from the complete specification in error.”

J. C. LEWIS,
Registrar.
