No. 24710.—16th July, 1908.—JOHN CROOK, of Grey Lynn, near Auckland, New Zealand, Engineer. An improved means of producing air-gas.
Extract from Specification.—A generator is provided, which is sealed from the atmosphere, at the top end of which a suitably volatile oil, such as gasoline, is fed from a reservoir through a valve on to a series of trays which form a spiral passage-way. Air slightly under pressure is introduced at the bottom of the generator, the air on its passage through the generator and around the spiral passage-way of the trays to the outlet-pipe, which is placed on top of vessel, comes in contact with the gasoline, taking up the hydrocarbons contained in it, and reaching the outlet-pipe in the form of a luminous gas. An overflow-chamber is placed beneath the generator for receiving the overflow of gasoline. A perforated tray and an air-float with a spirally formed passage-way serve to more effectively bring the air in contact with the hydrocarbons of the gasoline.
[NOTE.—The above extract from the specification is inserted in place of the claims.]
(Specification, 5s. 9d.; drawing, 1s.)
