KARIOI FLAX COMPANY (LIMITED).
NOTICE is hereby given that by extraordinary resolu-
tion, effected by entry in the company's minute-book,
under and in accordance with section 168, subsection (6), of
"The Companies Act, 1908," it was resolved as follows:
"That it is proved to the satisfaction of the Karioi Flax Com-
pany (Limited) that the company cannot, by reason of its lia-
bilities, continue its business, and it is advisable to wind up the
same; and that GEORGE WILLIAM HULME, of Christchurch,
Accountant, be and is hereby appointed Liquidator of the
company."

Under the control and supervision of the Education
Department.

FOR Deaf Children of sound intellect. The pupils are
taught to use and understand ordinary speech. The
full charge for board and education is £40 a year, but
less is accepted from parents who cannot afford to pay
this amount. In case of necessity admission is free.
By the Education Act, the education of deaf children
between the ages of 7 and 16 is made compulsory. A child
is, as a rule, best fitted to begin the school course at about
the age of 6, but advice should be obtained as soon as any
sign of deafness is observed.
The following classes of deaf children are admitted :
- Children born deaf, or who have lost their hear-
ing before learning to speak. - Children who can hear a little, but are too deaf
to be taught in an ordinary school. - Children who have lost their hearing after having
learned to speak.
Parents and other persons acquainted with such cases
above the age of 4 are invited to communicate with the
