BY-LAWS OF THE HUTT COUNTY.
Enabling.
IN pursuance of the powers vested in them by “The Counties Act, 1886,” and “The Public Works Act, 1905,” and every and any other Act enabling them in that behalf, the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Hutt hereby order as follows:—
Repeals.
- Sections 4 to 12 inclusive of Part 2 of Chapter I of the Hutt County By-laws, made by special order, confirmed on the 9th day of May, 1905, and sections 1 and 2 of the Hutt County By-laws, made by special resolution, confirmed on the 13th day of February, 1906, are hereby repealed, and the following sections substituted in lieu thereof:—
Cessation of traffic.
(1.) Heavy traffic of all kinds, save for the carriage of agricultural produce or manure, shall cease during the whole of the months of May, June, July, August, and September.
Goods-cart to be licensed.
(2.) No goods-cart shall be used in any heavy traffic upon any road within the county unless a yearly license fee of £25 sterling shall have been paid on or in respect of the same in accordance with this by-law.
Application for license.
(3.) Any person desiring to pay a yearly license fee on or in respect of any goods-cart shall make application in writing to the County Clerk, and in such writing shall describe the goods-cart on or in respect of which it is proposed to pay such license fee.
Number allotted.
(4.) Every goods-cart on or in respect of which a license fee shall have been paid in accordance with these by-laws shall have a number allotted to it by the County Clerk, and such number shall be specified in the license or receipt issued in respect of such goods-cart or for the fee paid therefor.
Allotted number to be fixed, &c., on goods-cart.
(5.) Every goods-cart engaged in heavy traffic shall have painted thereon, or on a board or plate permanently attached thereto, the number allotted to the same, as aforesaid, in block figures not less than two inches in height, and of a proportionate breadth, in white, upon a ground of black,
